Avencia are partnered with a leading specialty insurer and reinsurer, who are looking to recruit an Actuarial Analyst in their London office.
The opportunity
Join a dynamic actuarial team supporting an international insurance organisation across multiple geographical regions. While primarily based in London, the team operates flexibly, with the option to work remotely or from other office locations. This role offers frequent interaction with teams across underwriting, finance, and claims, as well as colleagues globally-including the US and Europe.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver technical and operational support to the actuarial function covering Professional and Financial risk and European underwriting portfolios.
- Contribute to:
- Large account pricing and tool validation
- Business planning and capital model parameterisation
- Quarterly reserving and best estimate analysis
- Annual regulatory reporting
- Develop strong working relationships with underwriting teams, offering both challenge and support across pricing and reserving.
- Take ownership of core processes to produce deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support wider actuarial initiatives across the international business.
Skills & experience
- Prior experience in either actuarial pricing or reserving; experience in both is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across multiple departments, including Underwriting, Finance, and Claims.
- A team player with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
- Comfortable presenting results and insights to underwriters or other business stakeholders.
- Understanding of actuarial inputs to business planning and capital modelling processes.
- Willingness to work from the London office at least two days a week.
