Job Description
Are you a passionate Agronomist dedicated to advancing sustainable agricultural practices? Our client, a leader in agricultural innovation and sustainable farming solutions, is seeking a Senior Agronomist to join their dedicated team. This position is fully remote, allowing you to apply your expertise and contribute to cutting-edge research from anywhere in the UK. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing advanced agronomic strategies to enhance crop yield, improve soil health, and promote environmental sustainability across diverse farming operations. Your responsibilities will include conducting field trials, analysing soil and crop data, and providing expert recommendations on fertiliser management, pest and disease control, irrigation, and crop rotation. You will also be involved in researching and evaluating new agricultural technologies, seed varieties, and farming techniques. Collaboration is essential; you will work closely with farmers, researchers, and agricultural scientists to share knowledge, troubleshoot challenges, and drive the adoption of best practices. You will also be responsible for staying abreast of the latest scientific research, regulatory changes, and market trends in agriculture. We require a Master's degree or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Soil Science, Crop Science, or a related agricultural discipline, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in practical agronomy or agricultural research. Proven experience in crop diagnostics, soil analysis, and developing sustainable farming plans is essential. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in data interpretation, and familiarity with agricultural software and technologies are required. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are vital for effective knowledge transfer and stakeholder engagement. The ability to work independently, manage field research projects remotely, and travel as needed (though the role is remote) is crucial. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of sustainable agriculture and make a tangible impact on food production and environmental stewardship, all within a flexible remote working arrangement.
