Your opportunity
+ Ability to support operational projects with minimum supervision.
+ Support and collaborate with the Operations Leadership in making strategic decisions to enhance the operating model, data integrity, quality and availability across the enterprise.
+ Oversee all Middle Office services, including portfolio support trading operations and client performance reporting.
+ Assist in designing, developing, testing, and implementing new processes and system enhancements to meet business requirements and improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Collaborate with Portfolio Management, Technology, Product and Distribution, Compliance, Legal, Treasury and Risk teams to develop procedures and protocols that support new and/or enhanced products and services.
+ Work with other departments and jurisdictions to achieve a consistent global operating model for the firm.
+ Ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines, policies, and regulations relating to investment operations and represent the investment operations department in regulatory audits as needed.
+ Assist in developing and maintaining operational policies and procedures.
+ Maintain an understanding of all internal stakeholders' requirements and business processes

Must have skills
+ Investment Operations: Direct experience in managing investment operations processes within the Asset Management or financial services sector, ensuring integrity and accuracy. Previous experience within a Hedge Fund or Alternatives operations in a portfolio or trade support capacity, or a related area is required
+ Derivatives Operations: Extensive experience in managing both cleared and OTC derivatives throughout the entire trade life cycle, including trade execution, settlement, and enrichment for portfolio analytics. Skilled in ensuring accuracy and compliance at every stage, from trade capture to final reconciliation, while providing valuable insights for portfolio performance and risk
+ Reconciliation: Ensure accurate reconciliation of transactions, positions, and cash balances between internal systems and external counterparties.
+ Securities Reference Data: In-depth knowledge of securities reference data, contributing to accurate and comprehensive data management
+ Industry Experience: five to ten years of experience in the financial services industry
+ Data Operations and Quality Practices: Proven record of accomplishment in implementing data operations approaches and quality practices in large financial organizations, enhancing data reliability and performance.
+ Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, demonstrating a strong academic foundation and practical expertise.

**The Team:**
Managing private equity funds is an important component of Neuberger Berman's business strategy. Neuberger Berman is a leading and growing investor in private markets, managing c. $35 billion of client commitments in active vehicles as of December 31, 2024. **The Role:**
The successful candidate will support the team in the due diligence analysis of co-investments in single portfolio companies as well as primary fund investments:
+ Co-Investments: Invests directly into attractive deals alongside premier private equity firms in their core areas of expertise. Focuses on building high-quality, diversified portfolios of strategic co- investments primarily in buyouts and growth financings on a global basis and across multiple industries.
+ Primary Fund Investments: Makes primary commitments to premier private equity funds. Creates diversified portfolios of private equity funds on a global basis and within multiple asset classes, including buyout, growth equity, venture capital and distressed / special situation investments.
We are seeking a driven individual with two years of relevant experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or Private Equity, who can add value across a broad range of private equity investing activities. **Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Play a key role in analyzing and assessing a broad spectrum of companies across various industries to identify compelling investment opportunities.

The Fund Management Team
Low Carbon is looking to appoint an Associate Intern within the Fund Management team who will report directly to an Investment Manager, and support the wider team. Low Carbon Investment Management is an FCA accredited manager that makes investments into late-stage renewables assets on behalf of third parties. LCIM is currently raising its first fund – Low Carbon Renewables Fund (“LCRF”) – with a target size €500m, first close targeted in 1H 2024 and over 1GW of seed assets secured.
Key Responsibilities
Support the execution of new investment transactions (Primary responsibilities)
- Develop an understanding of the investment criteria of LCIM fund mandates
- Lead country and renewable technology sector research activities and feed this into MD, ID and IM investment sourcing activities
- Support IMs, IDs and MDs in the analysis and evaluation of new investment opportunities, including financial analysis, risk and counterparty analysis, relevant industry research:
- Build and modify financial models for investment opportunities, including complex operational, investment structuring and debt financing structures
- Prepare investment committee papers supporting new investments, new projects or other material investment decisions
- Project manage due diligence workstreams, assist IMs and IDs to critically review the work of third-party advisors
- Contribute to the review of transaction documentation and transaction funding
- Contribute to the sourcing of new investment opportunities
Monitor the performance of portfolio investments (secondary responsibilities)
- Lead the preparation of internal and investor reporting and valuation for portfolio investments, including ownership of investment model
- Collect and review financial and other information from portfolio companies in order to monitor progress
- Liaise with portfolio companies on ongoing corporate actions, collection of fees and dividends, redemptions etc.

- Quickly develop an understanding of the LCIM strategy and its investment criteria, including performance metrics, sectoral and geographic focus
- Build strong internal relationships and become a key part of the team
- Begin to assist IMs, IDs and MDs in analysing investment opportunities and supporting fund raising activities

The Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:
- A strong analytical tool kit (qualitative and quantitative) with strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience in financial modelling & managing DD processes
- Be driven, dynamic, forward thinking, innovative and agile; and be comfortable working in a fast paced, adaptable environment
- Based in the UK, happy, willing & able to travel to the LCIM target geographies and comfortable operating within those cultures
- A personal interest and understanding of renewables and climate change coupled with a deep appreciation for investing
Professional Skills & Experience Required
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience in building cashflow models including complex project financing and investment structures and advanced valuation concepts
- Experience in corporate finance advisory, investment management, investment banking or strategy consultancy (Preferably investment bank or boutique investment banks)
- Experience in buyside M&A / energy / infrastructure would be highly regarded
