Job Summary:
The Supply Register is currently seeking one, potentially two, dedicated Skills Trainers to join Newcastle College on a temporary basis. These roles involve supporting apprentices in the workplace, ensuring their progress and development is effectively reviewed and supported throughout their apprenticeship journey.
This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with an assessor qualification to play a vital role in helping apprentices achieve their goals, while also working closely with employers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out workplace visits with apprentices.
- Review and assess apprentice progress, identifying outstanding theory-based learning.
- Liaise with employers to provide updates, address questions, and resolve any concerns.
- Maintain accurate progress records using Smart Assessor (training available if required).
Requirements:
- A recognised assessor qualification (CAVA, TAQA, A1 or D32/33).
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area (e.g., Business, Management, Hospitality, Hair or Beauty).
- Previous experience supporting apprenticeships is desirable.
- Familiarity with Smart Assessor would be an advantage (training provided if not).
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
- A current enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one through The Supply Register).
