We are looking for an Associate Director who can combine the technical engineering challenges of a fast-paced engineering sector, demonstrate leadership and people management of bridge design engineering teams and has a strong track record in business development, to join our Croydon Bridges and Structures team.
**What can we offer?**
Our Croydon office has approximately 45 engineers and technicians and has an established track record of successfully delivering bridge engineering schemes in London and Southeast England but also throughout the UK and overseas. The team provides assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of schemes, either as standalone bridge commissions or as part of multidisciplinary major projects. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous London and Southeast England Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors.
**Job Duties include:**
As Associate Director you will be expected to take a leading role have the following daily responsibilities:
+ Lead and mentor a team of bridge engineers, providing technical guidance and mentoring them during their professional development.
+ Client liaison. Develop and maintain relationships with key clients while aligning projects with business organisational goals.
+ Technically lead the design, engineering and construction of complex bridges providing the optimal solution for our clients.
+ Conduct technical reviews, quality assurance checks and represent the organisation in industry forums and client meetings.
+ Responsible for production through to client sign off of Technical Approval documentation.
+ Excellent technical and communication skills both verbal and written.
+ Project Management including program and resource monitoring, quality control, technical management and delivery.
+ Production of tenders including quality documentation and costings.
+ Drive change and innovation within the team with the aim of being a market leader.

**Qualifications**
**Ready to push the limits of what's possible?**
_Here's what we're looking for:_
+ Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Bridge, Civil or Structural Engineering. Ideally educated to MSc level or equivalent.
+ Chartered Engineer with ICE or IStructE.
+ Extensive experience in bridge engineering with a proven track record of leading/managing large-scale projects.
+ Proven design and project management experience delivering to quality, time and budget.
+ Significant experience of leading project teams, including inspection and assessment and design of bridges either as standalone schemes or as part of multi-disciplinary road/and or rail projects.
+ Demonstrated problem-solving abilities in complex engineering scenarios.
+ Advanced knowledge of bridge design principles, codes and standards.
+ Strong knowledge of construction techniques and materials.
+ Working knowledge of structural analysis software - Lusas, MIDAS, Sofistik or SBD preferred.
+ Strong relationships with clients of both national and local authorities, together with major contractors.

About the opportunity

We're looking for a Project Management Lead to lead and deliver high-quality API-based solutions to customers and partners, and to contribute to the company's overall success by helping to achieve its growth, revenue, and customer success goals.

Reporting to the Global Head of Operations, the Project Management Lead will:

  • Assist in setting the strategic direction for the project management team and aligning it with the company's overall goals
  • Oversee the execution of projects and provide guidance and support to project managers, including;

Requirements

You must demonstrate the following:

  • 5+ years of experience in collaborative, complex, multi-partner system integration projects, in the credit credit payments space, delivered to enterprise or government clients
  • Experience leading and managing complex delivery projects using a variety of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall
  • Experience in establishing effective project governance and stakeholder communications
  • Solid understanding of API-based integrations and related documentation
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience leading a small team in the project management space


Other favourable experiences:

  • Experience working with cloud computing platforms and SaaS solutions to deliver API-based solutions
  • Experience in the mobility-as-a-service space or with automated fare collection
  • An understanding of the credit card payment processing industry, including the different types of processors, fees, and compliance requirements
  • Experience implementing process improvement methodologies
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required)
  • A project management certification, such as PMP or PRINCE2
