Senior Building Surveyor Key Responsibilities
- Delivering a range of projects of varying scale and complexity with minimal supervision.
- Providing technical leadership and support to project teams.
- Representing the organisation at client meetings, industry events, and professional forums.
- Supporting the development of junior staff and contributing to a culture of continual learning.

Project Delivery
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will:

Job Role:
We are now seeking a qualified Building Regulations Principal Designer to support a growing portfolio of complex, high-compliance construction projects.
You will play a critical role in ensuring designs meet statutory requirements under the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended), with particular focus on higher-risk buildings and healthcare/public sector infrastructure.
Main Responsibilities:
• Plan, manage, and monitor design work during the pre-construction phase.
• Coordinate and oversee the integration of design compliance in line with Building Regulations and relevant guidance (HTMs, Building Design Notes, JSPs).
• Ensure all Designers and related parties discharge their legal duties effectively.
• Liaise with Clients, Principal Contractors, and Designers to promote a collaborative, compliant design process.
• Act upon design-related regulatory feedback raised by Principal Contractors.
• Share necessary information with Principal Contractors to aid compliance in build planning and execution.
• Create and submit Gateway 1, 2, and 3 documentation for BSR applications.
• Support the client in submitting applications to BSR, LABC, or RBCA as appropriate.
• Coordinate duties alongside the CDM Principal Designer to integrate health and safety design risk management.
• Review and support the development of the Design Risk Register and produce Building Control Trackers.
• Ensure smooth handover of duties upon completion or early termination of PD appointment.
• Deliver BSA and BR workshops to Clients, Design teams and Contractors
Qualifications and Experience:
• A degree in Building Control, Building Surveying, Architecture, or Construction Engineering.
• Solid understanding of the Building Safety Act 2022 and current Approved Documents.
• Experience preparing Gateway 1–3 submissions under the BSR framework.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in design compliance or regulatory roles.
• Class 2F and Class 3(g)(h) Registered Building Inspector status (or demonstrable eligibility - desirable).
