Our client, an esteemed player in the renewables sector, is currently seeking a dedicated Cable Jointer to join their team. This permanent position involves UK-wide travel and focuses on I&C and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects within the connections team.
They would also consider a Jointers Mate with the machine tickets who is looking to progress his career within High Voltage
Key Responsibilities:
- Executing cable jointing at both 11kv or 33kv levels
- Operating excavators (CPCS OR NPORS)
- Ensuring the safe and efficient jointing of cables across various renewables projects
- Maintaining adherence to health and safety standards on-site
- Collaborating with project teams to ensure timely and effective project delivery
- Travelling to different project sites across the UK as required
Job Requirements:
- Trained in cable jointing at 11kv or 33kv
- Certified as an Excavator or Dumper Driver
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to cable jointing
- Ability to travel across the UK
Benefits:

HV Cable Jointer – 12 month contract – South of England – Outside IR35 – September start
Hunter Philips are partnered with a leading manufacturer who are looking for a HV Cable Jointer. You will be responsible for instillation, testing, commissioning and jointing on the underground networks.
Responsibilities:
- Instillation and refurbishment of HV equipment
- Carry out LV and HV cable jointing, terminating, and associated works on SSEN’s distribution network
- Undertake fault location, diagnosis, and repair of underground cable systems
- Work to SSEN’s safety rules, operational procedures, and quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain work sites, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
- Complete all work related documentation accurately and on time (job packs, permits, test records).
- Liaise with Senior Authorised Persons for permit to work and switching requirements.
- Operate plant and equipment relevant to cable jointing works.
- Ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.

- All inclusive day rate, outside IR35

What will I do in this role?
As a Cable Jointer, you'll be at the heart of our electrical network, supporting both planned and emergency works on HV and LV systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out jointing and cabling work on HV and LV networks
- Responding to emergency faults and participating in an out-of-hours standby rota
- Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with industry regulations
- Inspecting and maintaining cable systems to ensure performance and compliance
- Collaborating with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients to deliver a seamless service
- Maintaining accurate records and adhering to SHEQ policies
- Representing Enerveo with a focus on safety, service, and professionalism
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- DNO industry experience (UK ) with recognised jointing authorisation in LV/HV (11kV or 33kV)
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Power Networks Craftsperson
- A strong understanding of electrical systems and jointing techniques
- Flexibility to work out of hours and be included on a standby rota
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience working as an electrician
- Use of testing equipment and diagnostic tools
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Familiarity with various cable types and safety procedures
