Key Responsibilities:
* Perform jointing on electricity distribution networks up to 38kV.
* Install, alter, repair, and maintain underground electrical cables.
* Connect new supplies, carry out diversions, and repair faults.
* Complete work within agreed timeframes and service levels.
* Conduct risk assessments and follow safe working practices.
* Test insulation, voltage, phasing, and continuity.
* Perform HV network switching operations.

HV Cable Jointer – 12 month contract – South of England – Outside IR35 – September start

Hunter Philips are partnered with a leading manufacturer who are looking for a HV Cable Jointer. You will be responsible for instillation, testing, commissioning and jointing on the underground networks.

Responsibilities:

• Instillation and refurbishment of HV equipment
• Carry out LV and HV cable jointing, terminating, and associated works on SSEN’s distribution network
• Undertake fault location, diagnosis, and repair of underground cable systems
• Work to SSEN’s safety rules, operational procedures, and quality standards.
• Prepare and maintain work sites, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
• Complete all work related documentation accurately and on time (job packs, permits, test records).
• Liaise with Senior Authorised Persons for permit to work and switching requirements.
• Operate plant and equipment relevant to cable jointing works.
• Ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.
