About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Data Cabling Engineer to join our team on a project in North East London. The role will involve installing, terminating, and testing Cat6 structured cabling across commercial premises. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with copper cabling, patch panels, and network cabinets, and be able to work independently from drawings and instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
- p>Install, terminate, and test Cat6 cabling to industry standards

Carry out cabinet builds, patching, and labelling

Work with patch panels, floor boxes, and network outlets

Ensure all cabling is neat, organised, and meets client specifications

Follow health & safety guidelines and maintain a tidy working environment
Requirements:

Proven experience in structured cabling installations (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a)

Confident in terminating, testing, and fault-finding copper cabling

Ability to read and work from technical drawings

CSCS / ECS card required

IPAF desirable

Must be available to start immediately

A fast-growing technology installation company in Stoke on Trent is looking for an experienced Data Cabling Technician to manage the installation, repair and maintenance of cabling and network infrastructure.
The role offers an attractive remuneration package including salary up to 32,000 per year plus bonuses, industry training and accreditations, career development, company van and fuel card, and would suit someone with previous experience within this sector or from an electrical or security background with experience of installing structured cabling systems and networks.
As the Data Cabling Technician , your key responsibilities will include:
- Work from construction drawings, reading job diagrams, scopes and specifications
- Installations of network and structured cabling (Cat5e/6/6a & Fibre Optic
- PVC and metal containment installation including cable tray and basket.
- Testing with Fluke Testers.
- Diagnose and rectify faults successfully.
- Carrying out network audits and reporting on progress and issues to line managers and client contacts.
- Maintaining Quality standards whilst meeting agreed timescales.
The Data Cabling Technician will have the following skills and attributes:
- Installation of structured cabling systems experience is essential.
- Working knowledge of CCTV and door access or audio visual systems (not essential but desirable).
- Knowledge and experience with Fluke testers including fibre (desirable).
- Have flexibility around working hours, including night work and overtime.
- Willing and able to work within different locations over the UK staying away when needed.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure, paying good attention to detail at all times.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and self-manage workload without supervision.
- CSCS/ECS card (desirable)
- IPAF and PASMA licence (preferred but not essential).
- Full Driving license (clean or a maximum of 3 points).
You will be working 40 hours per week from the Stoke office and from various client locations locally and nationally. Door-to-door travel in addition to increased overtime rates for weekends.
Appointment is subject to DBS clearance, right to work checks satisfactory references.

Role Overview
We are seeking a Field Service Technician ideally with a data cabling background and a willingness to learn new technologies. The ideal candidate will possess logical and practical thinking skills and may have experience in systems or mechanical work (e.g. electrical installations, HVAC Repair etc.). This role requires working with Data network cabling, GSM auto diallers and lift alarm systems, ensuring proper installation, signal strength, and emergency call reliability.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Review, confirm, and install the necessary cabling for GSM and autodialer system integration.
- Diagnose and resolve network dropouts, interference, and connectivity issues.
- Understanding of VoIP, SIP, and PSTN communication protocols.
- Conduct site surveys and optimise antenna placement for better signal reception. Identify and allocate engine rooms and optimal placement for (Robustel- Elevator Voice Gateway) devices to ensure the best GSM signal strength.
- Signal strength optimisation and troubleshooting.
- Work safely within lift environments (training provided by the company).
- Collaborate with the engineering and technical teams to improve system efficiency and performance.
- Maintain documentation and provide service logs and installation reports.
Requirements
- Experience in cabling installation (structured cabling, telecom, POS systems, networking, or electrical systems).
- Logical and practical problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
- Understanding of low-voltage electrical systems, wiring, and grounding.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies (training provided for GSM systems).
- Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems (e.g., HVAC, lift systems, security systems) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage on-site installations efficiently.
- Comfortable working in lift environments and understanding safety protocols (training provided).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with clients on-site.
- Full UK driving license
