Our client, a renowned global pharmaceutical organisation, is actively seeking a highly qualified and experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) with a specialization in Cardiology. This hybrid role is based in the Leicester, Leicestershire, UK region, requiring travel to engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and research institutions. The MSL is responsible for disseminating complex scientific and medical information about the company's therapeutic areas and pipeline, fostering scientific exchange, and supporting clinical research initiatives. You will be a critical bridge between the company's medical affairs and the external medical community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, investigators, and other healthcare professionals within the cardiology field.
- Deliver accurate and comprehensive scientific and medical information regarding relevant therapeutic areas and products.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information from healthcare professionals.
- Support the generation of real-world evidence and post-marketing studies.
- Identify potential research collaborations and provide support for investigator-initiated studies (IIS).
- Present complex scientific data at medical conferences, advisory boards, and investigator meetings.
- Gather insights from the medical community regarding clinical practice, unmet medical needs, and competitive intelligence.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Regulatory Affairs.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in strict adherence to company policies, industry codes of conduct, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Contribute to the development of medical affairs strategies and tactical plans.
- Educate internal stakeholders on scientific advancements and medical insights from the field.
- Participate in relevant scientific and medical congresses and events.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MD, MSc) in a relevant discipline such as Cardiology, Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences, or equivalent.
- Significant experience as an MSL or in a similar medical affairs role, with a demonstrated expertise in Cardiology.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial design, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with medical experts.
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.
- In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory environment, and ethical guidelines.
- Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory and occasional national/international travel.
- Excellent scientific writing and critical appraisal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant medical and scientific literature databases.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid UK driving licence.

**Position Summary**
As an Account Manager in Interventional Cardiology, you'll deliver product knowledge and training to clinical teams, ensuring optimal usage and driving business growth through clinician engagement, education, and competitor conversion.
**Principal Responsibilities**
- Grow existing accounts and drive new business
- Build relationships with Interventional Cardiologists, and Cath Lab staff
- Advise physicians on complex procedures and product use
- Collaborate with Clinical, Medical Affairs, and Marketing teams to support training and market growth
- Develop Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) through education and engagement
- Manage contracts, proposals, and competitor conversions
- Attend scientific conferences and events in the UK and abroad
- Support clinical teams during unsociable hours when required
**Education / Experience Requirements**
- Preferably a 2:2 degree in Life Sciences or related (other qualifications considered)
- At least Band 5 (if from NHS background)
- Able to learn complex scientific/clinical content
- Self-motivated, tech-savvy, and a team player
- Confident communicating with clinicians
- Based within the territory
- Cath lab or transferrable experience highly valued
**Specialized Skills / Other Requirements**
**No prior cardiology experience is required - full training is provided** . What matters most is your willingness to learn, engage, and grow in a fast-paced clinical environment.
This is an exciting, challenging and stimulating role, working closely with Physicians to discuss challenges and offer information on the appropriate use of the products during Complex procedures.
**TRAVEL REQUIRED:** 50% - 80%
**WORKING ENVIRONMENT:** Remote/Field
