Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for new and existing products, ensuring scalability and economic viability.
- Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement safety measures to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in chemical plants, minimizing downtime and maximizing yield.
- Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and operations teams on process scale-up and technology transfer.
- Prepare process design packages, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
- Manage process improvement projects, including cost estimation, planning, and execution.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical development of the team.
- Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes in chemical engineering.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in chemical process design, development, and optimization within the chemical industry.
- Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and separation processes.
- Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and P&ID development.
- Knowledge of process safety management (PSM) and HAZOP studies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in UK regulatory standards and environmental compliance.

Location- Oldbury B69
Hours - 12-hour shifts x2 day shifts 6am-6pm x2 night shifts 6pm-6am 4 shifts on 4 shifts off
Pay 14.41 per hour
Temporary to Permanent role.
Duties.
- To transfer chemical liquids from bulk storage containers into mixing vessels to begin the production process of the finished chemical liquid product.
- Weighing, Measuring, Heating, and timing the production of chemical products.
- Following and Completion of production process documentation
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, i.e. manufacturing or production work experience with liquids and powders.
- Previous equipment used- Liquid Pumping / Filling equipment - Filling/ Emptying liquids from drums and containers
- Must haves: Counterbalance FLT Licence (Internal licences will be considered)
- Must be Numerate and Literate to complete all process documentation
- Able to workdays and nights on rotating 4 on 4 off shift pattern
- Able to attend work in Oldbury for all shifts across 7 days Monday- Sunday (Own form of Transport is an advantage)

Equipment Operation and Optimization:
- Setup, validate and monitor wet chemical processes.
- Program and adjust parameters to optimize performance and quality.
- Own and maintain process control strategies across multiple wet process lines (Pre-clean, DES, Electroplating, Surface Finishing).
- Define and document work instructions and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain and optimize chemical dosing and replenishment systems to ensure chemical stability and bath performance.
- Analyse production data to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement process changes to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement process changes and validate improvements.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) with process capability evaluations and risk assessments.
- Monitor, analyse, and improve key process parameters, using statistical process control tools.
- Interface with equipment and chemical suppliers to evaluate and introduce new process technologies.
- Perform routine maintenance on wet process lines.
- Liaise with maintenance team for servicing, repairs and upgrades.
- Support root cause investigations for process deviations.

Chemical Process Operator Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment

Chemical Process Operator Duties:
• Ensure that all process and operational activities associated with batch manufacture are carried out in compliance to the sites Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements
• To manufacture products according to details and instructions stated on the formulation batch sheet and specification, and to report in writing any deviations from these procedures immediately to the appropriate parties.
• To make accurate additions or adjustments to the process when instructed by Laboratory Staff
