Your new role as Civil Engineer (Water) You will play an integral role in the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater projects, working as part of a collaborative team of engineers and environmental specialists. The role will provide exposure to all stages of project delivery - from feasibility and outline design through to detailed design and construction support. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to build on their consultancy experience and progress their career towards chartership while working on challenging and rewarding water sector projects. What you will need to succeed as a Civil Engineer To be considered for this role, you should have: A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline Experience in the water and wastewater sector, ideally gained within a consultancy environment Strong understanding of design processes, hydraulic modelling, and/or water infrastructure delivery A proactive approach to professional development and working towards chartered status (ICE or Engineers Ireland) Desirable: Experience with UK and Irish water utilities, frameworks, or public sector projects Knowledge of environmental and sustainability considerations in water projects Proficiency in design software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, or similar packages What's in it for you? Job Description

We are looking for a Civil Engineer for our Midlands Team based out of our Redditch office. The role would suit a Civil Engineer who wants to take their next step in their career within an industry leading consultancy by working on exciting projects across the water sector projects and by leading the civil engineering team in the region.
You will join our team based in Birmingham to predominately work on Severn Trent Water's AMP8 CSO programme but also on a wide variety of studies centred around a thorough knowledge of urban drainage and its role within the wider water cycle and urban landscape. You will deliver projects which improve water quality, manage urban pollution, and contribute to Stantec's and our clients' environmental commitments.
Our Civil Engineers work across the project lifecycle in asset planning / strategy, concept design, outline and detailed design. We work in a variety of project areas within the water sector, including clean water treatment and water networks, wastewater treatment and wastewater infrastructure. Our civil engineering teams are involved in major projects such as Johnson Street Storm Overflow Screening Project, Abberton Reservoir Scheme and award-winning projects such as the Clifton Integrated Constructed Wetland and Kings Scholars Pond Sewer Rehabilitation.
You will be responsible for civil engineering design on projects working alongside multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery and outcomes for our clients. In your role you will have access to Stantec's world-class expertise to help you deliver leading edge solutions for our clients
**About You**
You'll have prior experience as a Civil Engineer in an engineering design role. You will ideally have Chartered status with a relevant professional body such as ICE or CIWEM.
You will have a passion for the water and environment sector and supporting our developing civil engineers. You'll also be experienced in successful project delivery and working collaboratively with clients and project teams to develop and deliver innovative engineering solutions.

Within our Glasgow and Edinburgh based teams, we are currently supporting our clients in delivering projects across areas including wastewater infrastructure, storm water overflows and treatment works. In addition to this, our Scottish teams also have the opportunity to support our colleagues across the country, working on projects for Northumbrian Water, Yorkshire Water and United Utilities.
