We are currently seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer / Civil Engineer to join our growing Exeter infrastructure team. This is an opportunity to join a reputable group with a strong forward workload. We have been at the heart of the local community in the South West for many years and are now looking at further expansion.
Our projects include a wide range of public and private sector schemes that include some significant development, infrastructure and regeneration projects from small scale local schemes to larger national frameworks.

You will play an important role within our team. You will support the production of drainage/highway designs and provision for all types and scales of development projects and assist in securing S278/S38 and S104 technical approvals. You will work with Engineer and Technician colleagues in the effective delivery of outputs to agreed deadlines.
Your role will be varied and challenging, and you will have the opportunity to learn from the wider group and take your career to the next level. We will work with you to establish your training needs and provide a clear pathway to progression. You will be part of a welcoming, progressive and inclusive team whose aim is to add lasting value to the communities we live in.
**ABOUT YOU**
Ideally you will have a degree in Engineering and an interest in progressing towards Chartership. You will have some experience in drainage, highways or civil infrastructure design projects and will be looking to expand your knowledge and experience. Skills with Microdrainage and Civils 3D are an advantage.
Some previous consultancy experience while working on civil infrastructure projects would be preferable. Your passion and experience of delivering quality infrastructure design solutions is most crucial to your success in this role.

+ **Deliver:** Be responsible for the delivery of complex tasks and projects and manage the budget and programme for these tasks and projects.Work proactively and collaboratively to solve engineering problems to deliver benefits to the communities that we serve.
+ **Expertise:** Be involved in all design stages including feasibility studies, outline designs, detailed designs, and preparing reports and technical specifications. Ensuring compliance of design with all applicable standards and regulations and provide technical expertise for interdisciplinary analytical studies.

**About you**
You will be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering. Ideally, you will be Chartered and be a member of a relevant engineering institution.
Previous experience working within the water industry is preferred.
Drawing from your civil engineering experience in the water industry, you will, as part of a team, develop solutions from needs identification and feasibility, through to outline and detailed design. You will have the ability to collaborate with other disciplines and have experience in supporting and leading other civil engineers. You will also have a track record of undertaking designs and completing design deliverables within required timescales and design budgets.
