Our client, a highly respected non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing social welfare and community engagement, is looking for an experienced and passionate Head of Community Development to lead their initiatives. This is a pivotal, fully remote leadership position, coordinating efforts that span across the London, England, UK region and beyond. You will be responsible for strategizing, implementing, and overseeing programs that foster community growth, social inclusion, and sustainable development. This role requires a deep understanding of community needs, exceptional leadership, and the ability to inspire positive change.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive community development strategy aligned with the organization's mission and values.
- Lead and mentor a team of community engagement officers and project managers, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Identify community needs and priorities through research, consultation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Design, manage, and evaluate a portfolio of community programs and initiatives, ensuring effective delivery and impact.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, local authorities, government agencies, and partner organizations.
- Secure funding through grant applications, fundraising activities, and strategic partnerships.
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial accountability and efficient resource allocation.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in all community development efforts.
- Monitor and report on the impact and outcomes of community programs, utilizing data to inform strategy and improvements.
- Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and public forums.
- Stay informed about best practices, trends, and policy developments in community development and social care.
- Foster a positive organizational culture that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the remote team structure.
- Master's degree in Social Work, Community Development, Public Policy, Sociology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in community development, social program management, or a related field, with a significant portion in leadership roles.
- Proven track record of successfully developing, managing, and evaluating community programs.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and fundraising/grant writing.
- Strong understanding of social justice issues, community needs assessment, and participatory development methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, management, and team-building skills.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management and budget management.
- Ability to work effectively independently and lead a remote team, demonstrating strong organizational and self-management skills.
- Passion for social impact and commitment to community empowerment.
