Job Description

We are looking for a Finance Systems Analyst with a strong understanding of finance and accounting business processes ideally with experience of working in transformation programmes.

You will support the Finance Systems Lead in Business As Usual (‘BAU’) system activities, such as the quarterly D365 upgrade process, monitoring system error logs and issue triage and bug fixing, whilst additionally contributing to a variety of financial projects within the programme.


Key responsibilities and primary deliverables


To be successful in the role, you will demonstrate the following responsibilities:


Analyst / Project Responsibilities:

  • You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their business requirements and objectives through interviews, workshops, and meetings to gather information and document the requirements accurately
  • You will analyse gathered requirements and identify gaps, inconsistencies, and potential issues
  • You will create documentation such as business requirements documents (‘BRDs’), user stories, functional specifications, use cases, and process flow diagrams
  • You will facilitate communication, manage expectations and act as a bridge between business stakeholders, project managers, and development teams.
  • You will identify areas of inefficiency or bottlenecks within business processes and propose improvements using various techniques
  • You will provide training to users on new / updated business processes, and be a touchpoint for queries following implementation and additionally work with the learning and development team on maintaining training documentation


System Responsibilities:

  • You will triage system issues / bugs raised by business users to find resolutions
  • You will liaise with third party providers on system issues requiring resolution
  • You will perform end to end regression testing on D365 and integration processes to ensure there are no issues during the quarterly upgrade cycle or ad-hoc code customisations / hit fixes
  • You will review upcoming feature releases with Microsoft to identify features that can be utilised by the business or that could impact current processes You will collaborate with functional teams to develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts for user acceptance testing, and perform validation testing to ensure that the developed solution meets the business requirements

Relevant experience & education

  • Previous user or functional experience of Microsoft D365 and PowerBI preferred
  • Strong technical background and knowledge of various technologies and platforms
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking abilities and root cause analysis skills
  • Experience and proficiency on the delivery of business analyst artefacts (such as user stories, BRDs, process documentation)
  • Proficiency in data analysis techniques and tools
  • Experience in providing systems demonstrations / training
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to stakeholders and maintain relationships
