Construction Site Manager
Location: Peterborough (covering sites within 1-hour radius)
Salary: Up to 55,000 + Car / Car Allowance
We're working with a well-established main contractor known for delivering high-quality projects and fostering a collaborative team environment. With a strong pipeline of work across social housing, commercial, and industrial sectors, they are now looking for a Site Manager to join their Peterborough-based team.
You'll be part of a tight-knit, skilled team that values teamwork, open communication, and getting the job done right-without the bureaucracy.



Your Role as Site Manager:


  • Oversee and manage construction sites within a 1-hour radius of Peterborough.

  • Coordinate and direct both in-house staff and subcontractors.

  • Work closely with Project/Contract Managers to ensure projects remain on time and within budget.

  • Lead and attend regular meetings with site personnel and subcontractors.

  • Maintain high standards of health & safety and quality assurance across all projects.


What We're Looking For:


  • Solid background in the construction industry with experience across social housing , commercial , or industrial projects.

  • HNC, HND, or Degree in a construction-related discipline .

  • Ideally holds one or more of the following certifications:

  • SMSTS

  • First Aid

  • Black CSCS Managers Card

  • Scaffold Inspection

  • Working at Heights

  • A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and site focus.

  • Demonstrated construction site management experience, ideally in regulated environments (e.g., MOD, Nuclear, Ports
  • Availability to attend site five days a week during the construction phase.
  • CITB SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certified. BPSS security clearance as a minimum; willing to obtain SC clearance.
  • Supervisory experience in temporary works. Ideally, a full Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.
  • Recognized qualifications such as NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in Devonport Dockyard is highly desirable.
