We are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Design Engineer to join a highly regarded Environment division and play a key role in the delivery of major water sector projects. With a secured pipeline of work stretching into 2030 as part of the AMP8 investment programme, this is a career-defining opportunity offering stability, professional growth and the chance to make a lasting impact on the UK’s water infrastructure.
In this role you will be at the heart of designing and delivering innovative civil engineering solutions across water and wastewater projects, from pipelines and non-infrastructure works through to environmental and sustainability upgrades. You will work closely with Principal Engineers, Design Managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes that move seamlessly from design into construction. Alongside your own technical contribution, you will also support the development of junior engineers, providing guidance and mentoring to help them grow.
This is a technically challenging and rewarding position that requires within the municipal water and wastewater industry, covering both clean and waste water. You will hold a degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification, and ideally be chartered or working towards chartership. Strong knowledge of civil design for construction is essential, together with expertise in hydraulics, reinforced concrete detailing and the design of both above and below ground water retaining structures. Excellent communication skills, commercial awareness and the ability to work in a client-facing environment are also vital.

We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join a well-established Environment division delivering essential water and wastewater projects across the UK.
