Affirm national standards have been achieved and upheld
Monitor through external examiner sampling and visit activities, centres' compliance with Pearson quality assurance expectations for RQF BTEC Higher National programmes
Support centres during the sampling process
Support centres in the delivery of BTEC Higher National programmes to national standards.
**Key Accountabilities**
Covering a defined range of programmes within a sector, the External Examiner (EE) will:
Undertake sampling of assessed student work within defined parameters and rules to establish that centres are assessing learning outcomes in accordance with Pearson standards for its Higher National qualifications
Provide sampling-related support and development to centres
Produce reports for centres and Pearson on the sampling undertaken, outcomes reached, and support provided

We are seeking a skilled Development Lead to join our dynamic software engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership abilities and a passion for driving innovation.

As a Development Lead, you will be responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of Software Engineers, overseeing project delivery and contributing to the design of high quality software solutions for our industry leading platform. Responsibilities:

Lead a team of highly skilled and motivated Software Engineers, providing guidance, mentorship and support to foster their growth and career development.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams to:

• Design and deliver high quality software solutions.
• Refine and provide estimations of the workload.
• Allocate resources effectively and monitor progress to ensure smooth sprint and release delivery.
• Escalate any technical issues, roadblocks or project risks.

- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback and enforce coding standards and software development best practices.

- Engage in sprint ceremonies while enabling productive discourse.

- Develop and refine technology choices, processes and standards as a key member of the Software Engineering management team.

- Recruit and onboard new Software Engineers.

- Spend time on hands-on software development as and when necessary, based on availability to do so.

Requirements

Essential skills:

• Strong management, mentoring, and coaching skills.
• Ability to effectively organise, prioritise and delegate work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and handle competing deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
• Extensive relevant software development experience broadly ranging from front-end and back-end with depth as an accomplished engineer in C# .NET.

Experience and strong knowledge of:

o   C# .NET

o   ASP .NET MVC

o   LINQ and Entity Framework

o   SQL Server

o   Web APIs

o   Source control management

o   Unit tests

o   Web-based languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

o   Azure DevOps

o   Octopus

o   Issue tracking tools

o   Strong knowledge of OOP, SOLID, OWASP and Secure Coding principles.

• Excellent problem-solving skills

Desirable skills:

• Experience working for a tech business
• Insurance industry experience
• Knowledge of large-scale multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
