Role Purpose
- Act as a key liaison between learners, curriculum teams, and employers to secure meaningful work placements.
- Lead on employer engagement and placement planning to meet learning objectives and college targets.
- Ensure all safeguarding, health and safety, and documentation requirements are completed before, during, and after placements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with curriculum staff to identify placement needs and match learners accordingly.
- Promote and prepare learners for work placements through tutorials, workshops, and learning platforms.
- Carry out risk assessments and employer health and safety checks in line with college policy
- Manage all placement documentation, including learner profiles, parental consent, and DBS checks where applicable.
- Maintain strong external relationships with employers, generating new leads and opportunities.
- Monitor placement progress, gather feedback, and support learners and employers throughout the process.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications, including Level 3 and minimum of 5 GCSEs (A-C including English and Maths).
- Experience supporting young people and liaising with employers in an educational or training environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Sound understanding of safeguarding policies, workplace risk assessments, and health & safety.
- Full right to work in the UK, with a clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.

Working with the Work Based Learning Manager, you will primarily manage a small team of assessors working across the Carpentry, Brickwork, and Maintenance Operations apprenticeship Standards. Closely monitoring the delivery of the programmes, you will ensure KPI’s are consistently exceeded, using interventions where required to drive overall performance.
Ideally, you will have a background in teaching/assessing/quality assurance from a construction education setting.
