The Role
// We’re looking for a Contracts Manager to join Masabi’s Legal team and lead the way on project managing customer and supplier contract negotiations, with a particular focus on the North American markets. You’ll be a key partner to the General Counsel and work closely with teams across the business to support RFPs, new customer agreements, upsells, global supplier contracts and BAU.
This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in technology contracts who’s also curious and forward-thinking. You’ll take the lead on project managing contract negotiations while helping the Legal Team adopt smarter ways of working, from using document automation tools to building processes that reduce time spent on manual contract reviews.
Location
// This role is open to candidates based in Colombia or the UK. It is remote-first in both countries, with occasional travel if needed.
Responsibilities
- Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of customer and supplier contracts, primarily across the US, with additional support for Canada, the UK and EU
- Support public sector RFPs by reviewing proposed terms and preparing contract exceptions
- Work closely with business and finance stakeholders to align on pricing, scopes of work, and key contractual terms
- Champion the use of AI and automation to streamline contract workflows, from document triaging and redlining to identifying opportunities for greater efficiency across the contract lifecycle
- Maintain and improve templates, playbooks, and contract workflows to support consistency and clarity
- Take ownership of tools and processes that support smarter document review and triaging
- Project-manage contract-related workstreams to keep processes on track and teams aligned
- Organise and structure our contract repository, working toward a clear, central source of truth
- Provide guidance to colleagues on contractual terms and support better decision-making across teams
- Strong experience managing complex commercial contracts in the tech space; SaaS is a plus, but not essential
- Familiarity with US contract law and North American market norms; global experience a plus
- Skilled in contract drafting, redlining, and commercial negotiation
- Comfortable using legal tools and open to exploring automation and AI to improve how work gets done
- Curious, proactive and process-minded, always looking for ways to make things better
- Calm and organised under pressure, able to juggle priorities and keep things moving

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Commercial Contracts Business Partner to work as part of a global industrial machinery organisation based close to Addlestone to work as part of the commercial team and closely with finance to provide operational and sales-support experience to commercial contract clients. This is a permanent role offering hybrid working 2-3 days a week in the office coupled with other excellent benefits.
Your new role
Your role will involve managing pre-contract negotiations, developing sales opportunities and managing risks in a balanced way. This role will include a broad range of interactions to provide assistance with internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance on contract queries, legal elements, technical and commercial inputs to support leading negotiations. This role sits within the soft services/facilities management client division, so candidates who have worked on contracts with these types of clients would be ideal.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have experience of managing pre-sales contracts, bid/contract shaping and working on contracts through negotiation at a national level with an inept knowledge of working with post-sales processes in commercial support and managing issues when raised on contracts by clients. You will have worked with legal documentation relating to contracts, ideally within the facilities' management, construction or engineering sectors, and live within a reasonable commute of Addlestone.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be offered an annual salary of between 70,000 - 85,000 depending on experience with a permanent contract, hybrid working with 2-3 days in the office and the remainder at home, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, 5K car allowance, 15% discretionary bonus, 6% pension contribution with employee contribution of 3.5%.

The Commercial team supports the business to optimise our relationships with partners, collaborators and customers whilst protecting Tokamak Energy’s interests and securing the business’s future success.
As the Contracts and Commercial Manager you will play a crucial role in drafting and negotiating agreements across the breadth of business activities, which may range from securing funding opportunities to providing services to customers. Within this varied role, you will also help shape the company contracting strategy and procedures to enable efficient and consistent solutions to complex contracting scenarios. You will be closely involved with a number of projects from an early stage to facilitate understanding of the primary business objectives and to help to shape our third party relationships through a commercial and contractual lens. You will aid in ensuing ongoing compliance with existing contracts by providing support to a variety of teams.

Requirements
In this role, you will:
- Draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including MOUs, Collaboration Agreements, Sales Agreements, Purchasing Agreements, and Research Agreements

- Develop a detailed understanding of the business, using this to efficiently and effectively negotiate contracts
- Use knowledge of law to develop pragmatic and creative solutions balancing risk, resource, and delivery
- Engage stakeholders across the businesses at the appropriate level, building and maintaining strong relationships with multiple individuals and teams
- Work with teams across the business to prioritize, set expectations and manage demand
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and ways of works relating to contracting
- Assist in the evolution of our template contracts
- Contribute to training on contracts both across the company and within the team

Requirements
- Relevant degree or qualification within legal discipline, or equivalent experience
- Detailed understand of contract law, with complementary knowledge in other fields
- Demonstratable experience in application of law to business scenarios and developing commercially focused solutions
- Experience negotiating across a diverse range of contracts
- Advanced skills in legal research and application of research to complex scenarios
- Excellent attention to detail and analysis skills
- Highly organised with extensive experience independently prioritising and driving delivery to deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an agile setting
- Proactive attitude and a drive to excel
- Good understanding of, and experience with agreements with a heavy emphasis on intellectual property rights is desirable
