We have an exciting new opportunity within the fast-paced environment of Pensions Solutions in the role of Business Intelligence Analyst. You will enable the business to drive and improve its overall performance and help deliver its business plan objective. You will do this with the development and delivery of standardised management information.
Please note that this role involves a combination of home and office-based working. You will need to be flexible and able to attend your nearest office—either Liverpool or Cheadle—as required. Office attendance may vary from 1 to 5 days per week, depending on business needs.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design, development, and deployment of Operational BI solutions.
- Production of regular and ad-hoc BI for business area
- Production of daily/weekly/monthly report package and supplemental reports
- Provision of root cause analysis results to management
- Regular reviews of reporting suite to ensure reports are fit for purpose.
- Liaise with other business areas from a data gathering/analysis perspective and provide support to the Operations Management team.
What we’re looking for:
- Advanced Power BI skills , including building Power BI datasets from specific data sources (mainly SQL, DAX, MDX)).
- Experience configuring Power BI Gateways, Dataflows and Power Query
- Utilising Power BI Apps to present dashboards and reports.
- Standardising reports across a business
- Power BI Premium features such as pipelines and lifecycle management.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to link to SQL data sources, be able to confidently use techniques such as Pivot Tables and Charts, VLOOKUP, Advanced Formulae, ability to write Macros / VBA.
- Azure skills , including but not limited to, query writing, including the use of Common Table Expressions, Union Queries, and ability to write and maintain Stored Procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and confidence to present information to all levels of management within the company.
- Ability to analyse and draw conclusions from the data and present the analysis in an insightful way.
- Gathering and interpreting stakeholder requirements and excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Maintenance of the current suite of business reports and Ad-hoc reporting for business managers.

Role Description:

Key Accountabilities
• Identify and analyse business problems and intelligence requirements that require change or enhancement

The role holder may also attend industry-wide intelligence collaboration forums, so an ability to engage with peer analysts from other financial institutions is highly desirable.
S/he will demonstrate leadership by becoming a subject-matter expert in their field, and by engaging proactively and productively with a range of stakeholders across Group Control.
