Key Responsibilities
- The design of electrical distribution substations from 11kV up to 132kV
- Design of substations across full project life cycle, from feasibility studies to detailed construction designs.
- Undertake the role of ‘Designer’ under the CDM regulations and production of a designer’s risk assessment for each project
- Visit substations to establish the existing site layout, produce as-built drawings, assess project requirements, and then produce detailed design drawings for all aspects from 11kV switch rooms up to 132kV compound layouts
Key Competencies
- Engineering knowledge of substation design and construction
- Knowledge of Standards associated with EHV substation design up to 132kV
- Knowledge of engineering standards associated with EHV substation plant
- Ability to manage and prioritise work to ensure project timescales are met
- The necessary background experience and technical knowledge to attain Competent Person status as defined in the Company’s Distribution Safety Rules to facilitate personal access to the Company’s operational sites

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing automotive components and systems using CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Creating detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical specifications.
- Performing simulations and analyses (e.g., FEA, CFD) to validate designs.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
- Troubleshooting design issues and implementing solutions.
- Participating in design reviews and providing constructive feedback.
- Researching and evaluating new materials and technologies for automotive applications.
- Ensuring designs meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
- Supporting prototype development and testing phases.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
We require candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive design. Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools is mandatory. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are also crucial.
