Role Description
The purpose of this role is to provide the Allianz UK Group with direct tax expertise specific to the needs of the business and be responsible for providing comprehensive and highly skilled tax compliance, reporting, advisory and tax risk management services. The role will be responsible for the day to day management of two Tax Accountants who support the role in managing the Direct Tax obligations for the Allianz UK Group.
Salary Information
Location: Guildford
Pay: Circa £75K per year.
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
- Responsibility for monthly and quarterly tax reporting packages. Must have good experience with Deferred Tax, Tax Journals and Tax Accounting concepts.
- Manages direct tax compliance processes to ensure that all statutory requirements and deadlines are met, including proactively managing any tax audits that arise.
- Advises on all CT tax matters including M&A and advisory.
- Implements and maintains best practice in respect of tax risk management.
- Considers and, where appropriate, implements CTtax planning initiatives in line with the Group's commercial needs and strategy to mitigate tax exposures where possible.
- Plays an active part in product and business planning by maintaining a close relationship with the relevant internal stakeholders.
- Maintains awareness of, and advises the business on, changes in tax law and practice including assisting with the implementation of system changes required.
- Maintains the high profile of the tax team within the wider Allianz Group.
- Helps with the development of other members in the tax team, particularly two Direct Tax Accountants supporting the Direct Tax Manager.
Essential Skills
- Fully qualified ATT/ACA/CTA preferred.
- Proven experience of a wide range of UK Corporation Tax matters. .
- Experience of working for large multinational enterprises, preferably within the financial services industry.
- IT literate including excellent Word and Excel skills.
- Technically competent, maintaining business focus.
- Competent problem resolution, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail whilst maintaining the ability to see the big picture.
- The ability to interpret and clearly explain tax technical issues.
- The ability to conduct and accurately interpret research on tax technical matters.

Desirable Skills
- Experience of working for large multinational enterprises, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Self-motivated with excellent project and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with SAP / One Source
- Experience with Alphatax (particularly for Tax Reporting)
