Who What Wear UK is looking to hire an Editorial Assistant to work alongside the editorial team to support in content production. You will be a burgeoning writer with a solid understanding of what makes a story up-to-date and relevant, a sharp eye for detail and impeccable taste in fashion and beauty product selections. This new role will help the editorial teams to reach their traffic and ecommerce goals by responding to a fast-paced and ever-changing schedule of content refreshes and other turnkey actions such as shopping edits and localising content from our US sister site.

What you'll be doing.

  • Report into the Managing Editor, and working closely with the Deputy Editor, you will complete weekly and daily tasks to update and strengthen existing SEO and top-performing content.
  • Collaborate with the social and ecommerce teams to support any additional content refreshes that are required for distribution.
  • Produce new and data-responsive content for editorial and commercial  as and when required. 
  • Support the Fashion Editor on sample call-ins, returns and shoot day assistance.
  • Assist the editorial team on fashion month scheduling and press-day calendar planning.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve.

  • Experience in producing content whether through own channels or academic studies. Relevant knowledge of fashion and beauty is preferred.
  • Proficiency in British English style, punctuation and grammar.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • CMS/HTML experience is highly preferred.

About the role

This is a critical support role, providing administrative support to an Executive Editor and their team with a range of commissioning and promotional activities.

Your responsibilities will focus on:

  • Responding to general queries from potential authors, including in response to commissioning activities, by managing the shared journal mailboxes.

This exciting opportunity is funded by a recent grant from the Welsh Government and focuses on improving access to high-quality chemistry education through the development and delivery of Welsh-language teaching resources and professional development materials.

As Editorial Assistant, you will play a key role in overseeing the collation, translation, and publication of these resources. You will also provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth programme delivery, including reporting, meeting coordination, inbox and data management and support for financial processes.

This role is ideal for someone with excellent organisational and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for science education.
