About the Role:
You will support our compliance with global regulatory frameworks, Ofqual's General Conditions of Recognition. You will be central to preparing for an expansion in the organisation's scope of recognition and ensuring internal policies and governance frameworks reflect current and new regulatory expectations.
You will interpret and communicate regulatory requirements, develop internal policy frameworks, and advise senior leaders on compliance risks, We ask that you are experienced in understanding the regulatory landscape for vocational and professional qualifications.
You will report to the Director Quality Assurance Professional Qualification. This is a 12 month contract role.
You Will:
- Interpret and translate external regulatory frameworks (e.g. Ofqual's General Conditions) into relevant internal processes or business quality standards.
- Provide guidance on how regulatory changes affect the organisation's qualification delivery, assessment, and quality assurance practices.
- Advise Management on risks, possible effects, and strategic responses to regulatory developments.
- Lead the development of regulatory and compliance policies to ensure adhesion to Ofqual requirements and other relevant frameworks.
- Ensure internal governance documentation is clear and updated.
- Monitor and report on changes in the external regulatory and policy landscape relevant to professional qualifications.
- Produce briefings, position papers, and communications to ensure our partners are informed and prepared.
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of both internal and external regulatory audits, including Ofqual audits and reviews.
- Work with our teams to ensure audit readiness and maintain documentation to evidence compliance with Ofqual's General Conditions of Recognition.
- Lead or contribute to the collation, analysis, and submission of compliance data and regulatory reports (e.g. Statement of Compliance, annual self-assessment).
- Support the internal audit and QA review processes by providing subject matter expertise on regulatory requirements and assisting with follow-up actions and reporting.
- Help prepare documentation required to expand the organisation's scope of Ofqual recognition.
- Use a hybrid work schedule
You Have:
- In-depth knowledge of Ofqual's General Conditions of Recognition and other UK regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in regulatory or policy roles within a Professional Body or Awarding Organisation.
- Experience interpreting complex regulatory information and communicating it.

Romodels is an education charity that works with schools across Wales to provide a three-stage learning programme to support primary learners to ‘Discover, Experience, and Believe’ in a diverse range of career opportunities—regardless of their own lived experiences. The programme is delivered through our original, online, bilingual Romodels Learning Portal, which feature real-life volunteer role models (‘Romodels’) in a range of inspiring careers.
Focusing on Expressive Arts, Language, Literacy, and Communication, and/or Health and Wellbeing , this role is designed for educators who are passionate about developing creative curricula that highlight diverse and often hidden career paths and inspire the next generation of change makers and trailblazers. You will play a vital role in shaping and delivering content that empowers young learners to explore a range of career possibilities.
As a Curriculum Development Specialist, you will collaborate with the Romodels team to design and implement high-quality curricula that meet the diverse needs of students. Your expertise will ensure that our educational programs are up-to-date, effective, and aligned with the Curriculum for Wales.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Researching best practices in curriculum design and instruction within Expressive Arts, Language, Literacy, and Communication, and/or Health and Wellbeing.
- Developing comprehensive and innovative real-life curriculum materials: student missions, teacher guides, reflection guides, job descriptions and assessment tools.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to evaluate curriculum effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.

Supported by a £500 grant to redevelop our mathematics programmes, the department is seeking to recruit a Teaching Fellow in Statistics. The main duties of the post will be to develop and teach undergraduate modules in Statistics for mathematics undergraduates, with a focus on active learning. The postholder can expect to be involved in all aspects of the department's teaching, e.g. as a personal tutor and project supervisor, and by contributing to the efficient running of teaching within the department.
What you would be doing
This role has a substantial curriculum development component. You will work closely with the project team and with students as partners to develop a novel statistics curriculum that is collaborative, discovery-based and informed by global challenges. You will carry out appropriate scholarly activities to develop your disciplinary pedagogic knowledge, including the evaluation of the redeveloped programmes.
You will teach within both established and new programmes of study, taking responsibility for individual modules by delivering lectures and running problem classes, piloting newly developed resources as appropriate. You will also have pastoral responsibility for a small number of undergraduate tutees and supervise student projects.

We are excited to be recruiting a Business Administrator Level 3 Apprentice for the fantastic Surrey Virtual School team at Surrey County Council.
This apprenticeship is ring fenced for Surrey care leavers, reflecting Surrey Virtual Schools commitment towards securing high quality education, employment and training for our care experienced young people. The Surrey Virtual School team are recruiting an Apprentice with experience of accessing services, such as emotional wellbeing and mental health, additional needs and/or disabilities and/or social care services such as being in care. About your Apprenticeship
We want this apprenticeship to be an opportunity for you to gain experience across a wide range of duties putting you in the best position to succeed in your apprenticeship qualification and take the first steps on your career journey! In this role, you will:
Support the SVS team to plan, advertise and evaluate a wide-ranging programme of high-quality online or in-person training and information events. You will be part of this process from beginning to end, supporting the team with analysing and assessing the impact of the training events offered.
Managing our training inbox and supporting the delivery of training sessions, including welcoming those attending, housekeeping and facilitating some elements of the training delivery, for example, break out rooms and screen sharing.
Work with the SVS team to develop communications to be promoted internally to staff in SCC, and to our partners such as schools and other education settings through Surrey Education Services.
Alongside other team members, you will support with content creation for the SVS website and other material to promote the work of SVS.
Over time, you will have opportunities to lead and play a key role in supporting with specialised events which will in include participation events and activity days for children and young people, team training days and conferencing and more.
We won't be expecting you to jump in and be able to do this all from day one. You'll first go through an induction period allowing you to get used to the office and the team. As you gain more confidence in your role, you'll be supported to do more and more!
The learning side of your apprenticeship will be delivered by Surrey Adult Learning with face-to-face workshops taking place once a month. As you progress through your course, you'll have one to ones with training assessors between once a week and once a month dependant on your needs. On average, you'll spend 4 days a week working and learning on the job and 1 day a week studying and completing work towards your qualification which will be the equivalent of 2 A-Levels.
As your qualification comes to an end and you begin to turn your eye to the future, we have a fantastic support programme in place that will put you in the best position to take the next step on your exciting career journey.
