We are looking for a hands-on RF Design Engineer to join an innovative tech company near Cambridge.
On a day to day basis you will be involved in:
- Designing, developing, and optimising RF systems at component level
- Leading integration, testing, and solving complex technical challenges
- Collaborating across hardware, software, and audio teams
- Creating detailed technical documentation, including design reports, test plans, and performance assessments
What do we need from you?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
- Extensive experience in RF design and development, ideally within the telecommunications industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of RF systems and technologies, including design, simulation, and testing.
- Experience with simulation tools (ADS, CST) and hands-on PCB work
- Strong time management and communication skills, with a history of delivering projects or tasks on time and with high quality.

Our client is a leading design consultancy with a rich, century old history. With numerous well-regarded businesses falling under their umbrella and sites all across the UK, they are well placed to provide design and support across diverse industries including FMCG, Utilities and Nuclear.
With hundreds of skilled Engineers and support staff working with them, they support on exciting and wide-ranging projects from upgrades to sites, to completely new sites from brown field starts.
Due to a change within their well sized design team, they’re currently looking for two experienced Electrical Design Engineers to join them. This could be a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to diversify their experience and work within a truly supportive and intellectually curious team of Design Engineers on cradle to grave projects.
The Role:
The successful Electrical Design Engineer will work on varied projects from initial sales enquiry. This could range from internal upgrades to manufacturing/processing sites to whole new sites.
Day to day responsibilities will include;
- Cable sizing
- Cable block diagrams
- Wiring layouts
- Creating electrical schematics
- Control panel design and redesign
- Safety circuits
- Producing BOM’s
- Produce own BOM’s
- Perfoming Risk assessments to BS EN ISO 13849/60261
Qualifications and experience:
- Recognised Electrical qualification ideally at HNC/HND level and above
- Experienced with AutoCAD Electrical or similar package
- A positive, teamwork attitude
- Ability to do cable calculations
- Significant previous experience of electrical design/control panel design
- Good communicator with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
- Independent and confident in your abilities

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Design Technical Lead to join the Electrical Systems Team focused on designing, developing, and validating a range of battery packs and electrical systems for a variety of In House and 3rd Party applications.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the detailed specification, design collaboration with key suppliers, definition of detailed requirements based on key program objectives and risk assessments (FMEA’s) of the electrical system including high voltage and low voltage subsystems. These systems include battery cell to module, module to pack, pack to power system and power system to electrified machine. li>Act as the electrical system architect and lead activities to be completed by the team which include 3D CAD design, schematics, harnessing, cable design and routing and electrical system validation.
- Ensure robust technical and timing plans are in place for current and future hardware requirements
- Oversee component specification, leveraging your expertise and question/critique supplier selections accordingly
- Develop and own electrical system schematics, high voltage, and control circuits, and ensure clarity and alignment with the battery system, power systems, and machine system.
- Collaborate with the validation team to ensure validation requirements and test plans at internal and external labs meet the needs of your validation plans and with the software team to ensure compatibility and alignment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering subject. < i>Relevant industrial experience in electrical system or high voltage battery pack design and development.
- Experience of high and low voltage power electronics.
- Experience of electric vehicle electrical system design and development is desirable.

Hours & Salary:
- 35,000 - 45,000, depending on experience
- 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexible schedule with core business hours covered)
Electrical Engineer Duties Include:
- Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the reliability testing of advanced network cards in line with an agreed Reliability Test Plan. This is a hands-on role involving test setup, monitoring, troubleshooting, and data collection, with work split between our onsite oven-testing facility and an external partner lab in Haverhill.
The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers to design and validate test setups, check wiring and schematics, run regression tests, and execute scripted procedures across both Windows and Linux platforms. Due to the lab's location, applicants should have access to their own transport.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and run reliability and regression tests on network cards.
Operate and monitor environmental ovens (temperature/humidity cycling).
Work with test scripts, wiring checks, and test automation across Linux and Windows platforms.
Collect and analyse results in Excel, providing clear, accurate documentation.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure tests are executed safely, reliably, and to plan.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong understanding of complex electronics and system-level testing.
Ability to read schematics and PCB layouts .
Experience with RS232 communications .
Scripting skills (Bash/Linux).
Competent with Excel for test data logging and analysis.
