As part of our continued support to our client in the space industry we are looking for an Electrical Technician with experience with Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT).
The Electrical technician will be working alongside subject matter experts in a dynamic and growth focused Space business. The role will require candidates to support in the preparation of electrical components which meet high quality standards in line with production procedures and processes.
Working as part of the AIT team on spacecraft critical components to produce components which conform to the quality requirements, delivered to schedule IAW the production plan. Although not essential specific experience in RF and optical cable routing and assembly, as well as clean room experience are highly sought after this role.
The roles will be based at our customer's facility in Stevenage, we are able to offer these roles on a permanent or contract (Inside IR35) basis. The salary/rate is negotiable based on experience, seniority, etc. The role will require working on a shift basis (early and late) for which a premium will be paid.
Responsibilities
The Electrical AIT Engineer will perform, but is not limited to the following type of activities centred on provision of satellite/satellite payloads:
- Ability to read and work to shop floor documents such as routings, drawings, work instructions and BOMs
- Responsible for working to and complying with ESA standards, processes and H&S requirements
- Work to the required process standard as dictated by the relevant area skills matrix
- Responsible for completion of paperwork relating to operations undertaken, inc. traceability
- Online harness routing, crimping and connector population in line with space industry standards
- Pre installation electrical checks
- Inspection capabilities to check crimps and harness routing
- Mechanical and electrical Integration of equipment/hardware
- Working on space hardware
- Bonding of bracketry and ty bases as per instruction
- grounding various components to the panel as per instruction
- Work within a flexible motivated teamworking to tight schedules and meeting critical deadlines
- Play an active part in continuous improvement plans
- Candidates may be asked to temporary follow equipment to other UK sites and may be given opportunities to work abroad
Qualifications
- Time served apprentice is desirable but not essential
- ESA Qualified Electrical Technician
Essential skills
- Knowledge required of crimping, splicing, harness manufacture, harness forming, thermal installation, all to ESA Electrical standards
- Familiarity and ability to follow shop documentation such as bill of material, drawings, work instructions, processes and procedures
- Pre installation electrical checks
- Inspection capabilities to check crimps and harness routing
- Must have good electrical knowledge and technical understanding
Experience
- Electrical experience post any training period
- Experience working in a high quality production environment relating to electrical assembly
- Experience working in a clean-room environment including FOD/ESD practices

Working on a Monday to Friday 40-hour week basis with no on call rota the Maintenance Technician will carry out planned & preventative maintenance on HVAC & related systems across the facility based in Slough.
As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out planned & reactive maintenance on site services such as HVAC
- Working to a schedule provided by the site services manager
- Working on equipment across the whole building becoming familiar with GMP rules & statutory requirements
- Ensuring the CMMS systems contains the most up to date information regarding equipment data, spares & maintenance man- hours
- Other duties as required
To be considered for this role you should have:
- A relevant electrical engineering qualification (HNC, NVQ, City & Guilds, apprenticeship etc.)
- Good understanding of varied utilities systems
- Experience with pumps, HVAC systems, compressors, purified water systems etc
- Ability to work in a multiskilled maintenance role with an electrical bias
- Knowledge of all Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and safe systems of work, RAMS, permit to work, etc.
This is a permanent position based in Slough; due to the location of the site, you will need a full UK driving licence to access the site.

What you'll be doing;
- Carry out work as per schedule supplied by the Services Manager or Supervisor and as per site policies, schedules and procedures.

- Ensure that the CMMS system contains the most up to date information regarding equipment data, spares and maintenance man-hours.
What we're looking for;
- Previous AP experience required
- Electrical experience and good understanding of the basic fundamentals of the various utilities systems
- Senior Trades, City and Guilds or equivalent in Electrical engineering
- Experience with pumps, HVAC Systems, compressors, boilers, steam systems and ancillary services, (DHW skids), chillers, cooling towers, clean steam coilers, Purified Water Systems, CIP systems; general canteen/kitchen equipment
- Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance Systems and Building Management Systems
- Experience within a Computerised Maintenance Management Work Order system environment
- Documented experience of working within Permit to Work System
- Ability to read and understand P & IDs/ electrical drawings
- Understanding of SOP's and with training GMP Engineering systems.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of automated production lines by responding quickly to breakdowns, conducting fault-finding and repairs, and delivering proactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns on production and packaging lines, ensuring minimal disruption to output.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to improve reliability and reduce unplanned stoppages.
- Diagnose and repair faults on electrical systems, PLCs, motors, drives, sensors, and control panels.

Job Purpose

RequirementsDaily Tasks
• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment to meet or exceed company established Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) expectations and customer quality expectations.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical equipment including power and control wiring, motors, controls, electronic devices, PLC’s and building electrical maintenance.
• Troubleshoots PLC and other electronic systems. Able to troubleshoot and program machine logic systems.
• Read and interpret schematics, parts manuals, blueprints, sketches, hydraulic diagrams, and machine manuals.
• Evaluate production report comments prior to performing maintenance to ensure all causes for production inefficiencies are addressed and corrected.
• Perform building maintenance as directed by Maintenance Manager.
• Maintain sufficient records to support the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (EAM) including work orders and parts management.
• Responsible for active participation on plant teams and activities including safety, quality, sustainability, community involvement, OEE, maintenance, employee wellness, brainstorming and continuous improvement which are required to create and maintain a World Class environment.
• Operate Powered Industrial Truck, Boom Lift and Scissor Lift per OSHA regulations rules and guidelines.
Experience Needed
