As the AIT Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry.
You will be involved in:
- Interpretation of electrical and functional test requirements from test specifications
- Provide test solutions to meet the test specification requirements, from planning and kick-off meeting, through test sequence coding, procedure preparation, and debug to execution
- Provide first-line support to the test operations team
- Close out tests with Post Test Review and Test Report
- Provide technical inputs to project test reviews (Test Readiness Reviews, Post Test Reviews, Test Review Boards, and Non-Conformance Review Boards)
- Development and debug of Automatic Test procedures (ATP) using a bespoke high-level S/W language (Open Center checkout system based on the Elisa language and Open Center Bridge based on JAVA)
Your skillset may include:
- Experience writing test sequences/scripts for execution tests from the Central Checkout System (CCS)
- Knowledge of Elisa and JAVA
- Working knowledge of TMTC Databases
- Spacecraft systems and subsystem technical knowledge and awareness, e.g. Data Handling, Packet Utilisation Standard, Data Bus Communications
- Programming and scripting languages
- Writing and debugging Linux/Unix bash scripts
- Knowledge of a programming language such as C, Java, python, TCL, VBA
- Competent in the use of various test equipment used for electrical measurements
- Familiar with the Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of system testing & Verification.

Raytheon UK are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with a background in defence or aerospace who is ideally knowledgeable about training development to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of requirements management, system design, interface management, integration, verification, validation (IV&V), and product qualification. They will also require experience of specifying requirements, developing statements of work, and monitoring both the design, production and acceptance of complex training devices.
The ideal candidate will have to be sufficiently flexible to perform in different contexts. Some tasking may be primarily internal, working within a matrix team to develop procurement strategies and to mature requirements for training devices which they will then assist in taking through a procurement cycle. Other tasking may be centred on managing, for Raytheon, the activities of a sub-contractor undertaking detailed design and build of a training device.
The successful candidate will have access to professional development opportunities and be part of the growing Defence Business in Raytheon UK, delivering engineering expertise across a wide range of projects to both military and civil customers worldwide.
This will be a hybrid role with the expectation that both Raytheon site and Customer site attendance will be required at times. This is expected to be around 20% across the month.
Responsibilities:
+ Working with the Training Solution Delivery Lead to define work packages and technical requirements.
+ Individually contribute to the execution and delivery of key work packages.
+ Undertaking activities associated with product specification and qualification.
+ Collaborate with cross functional teams to assist in the procurement and implementation of advanced training devices; the wider team includes specialists in requirements, test and acceptance, system architecture and supportability.
+ Contributes to problem resolution at a team level.
+ Contributes to and helps improve planned system operation.
+ Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes and procedures
+ Supporting and completing bid responses both at the Pre-Qualifying (PQQ) and Tender (ITN) stages.
+ Carrying out Systems analysis and design work;
+ Technical design reviews, oversight and governance;
+ Supporting Customer questions and requests
**Essential Requirements:**
+ A relevant degree or equivalent training and at least 7 years of relevant experience.
+ Strong experience in systems engineering, ideally on all sections of the V-model.
+ Experience with systems engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
+ Experience writing scopes of work and acceptance criteria.
+ Knowledge of the development of Systems of Systems.
+ Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-discipline environment to produce deliverable products.
+ Experience with Atlassian suite, working with Jira, Confluence, Dimension RM and DOORS
+ Hands-on experience with configuration management tools
+ Has, or is able to obtain, security clearance.
+ Valid driving licence.
**Desirable Requirements:**
+ Experience of training devices.
+ Experience of working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model.
+ Awareness of NAFv4 and/or TOGAF.

Our client is a global defence organisation delivering cutting-edge technology to UK and international customers. Their Bedfordshire-based operation works across special projects, weapons systems and platform integration. Due to high demand and growth across business areas, they're looking for an experienced Systems Engineer contractor to join the team.

THE SYSTEMS ENGINEER ROLE:
This role supports the Engineering Team on high-priority special projects, with a particular focus on Command & Control systems. You'll play a key part in the systems lifecycle including modelling, V&V activity and architecture assessments. You'll join a collaborative and well-resourced team, with opportunities to bring your expertise to the forefront on strategically significant defence projects.
SYSTEMS ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Systems engineering experience across full lifecycle
- Strong background in Command & Control domains
- Modelling and simulation experience (MATLAB/Simulink)
- Knowledge of Verification & Validation processes
- Familiarity with Comms and RF Network Architectures
- Active SC clearance (or eligible), BPSS to start

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our clients team, responsible for leading integration and verification activities for an Electronic Warfare capability. The successful candidate will possess a broad knowledge and experience of ITEA, particularly in airworthiness and Certification aspects, within the engineering lifecycle of Airborne Communication and Mission Systems. This role requires a strong understanding of system engineering principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Solid knowledge of System engineering lifecycle, logic, and problem solving
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical issues and present to stakeholders at different levels in the business
- Good understanding of Risk and Configuration Management
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance
- Engineering degree or relevant experience in Electronics/RF Comms/Software
- Experience of verification/design of RF systems or other complex electronic systems/networking systems is considered an added advantage
- Experience/Awareness of aerospace specifications such as ARP4754, RTCA DO-160G, and MIL-STD-810 is desirable
- Experience of systems engineering toolsets (Polarion) is desirable
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience of working on Comms & Radar systems
- Aptitude/experience of working on complex/airborne/aerospace projects
- Proven track record in leading ITEA activity in complex/airborne/aerospace projects
Preferred Education and Experience
- Engineering degree or relevant experience in Electronics/RF Comms/Software
- At least 5 plus years of Systems Engineering Experience with recent experience of working in a lead role
Other Requirements
- Ability to commute to site for a minimum of 3 days a week
- Ability to attend 5 days a week in the office when/if required (during lab integration & testing)

Windows Systems Engineer
Central London (4 days in office)
75,000 - 80,000 per annum + annual discretionary bonus
On behalf of a Leading hedge fund, I have an exciting opportunity for a Windows Infrastructure Engineer to make an immediate impact on challenging infrastructure projects, driving automation, security, and efficiency across the IT infrastructure in a collaborative working environment. The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer who supports a highly available IT infrastructure.
The role requires applicants to commit to a non negotiable 4 days per week in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy and support enterprise Windows Server (Apply online only) and Microsoft 365 solutions (Entra ID, Exchange, Endpoint Manager, Teams, Conditional Access) to meet organizational needs and following best practices
- Manage and optimise the Windows server estate, focusing on on-prem infrastructure.
- Perform system maintenance, such as applying patches and updates to ensure availability, optimal performance and security of IT infrastructure
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify/resolve issues
- Maintain detailed documentation of system setup, configuration, procedures and change
- Implement and manage security platforms including endpoint protection and patch management to protect data and shared IT infrastructure
- Manage backup solutions to ensure data recovery and resiliency
- Work as part of the Infrastructure and Systems Engineering team to plan and execute larger IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments
- Take ownership of ongoing Windows-related projects, driving them forward and ensuring timely completion
- Keep up to date with the latest technologies, security vulnerabilities and industry best practices
- Ensure that systems and user activities comply with organizational policies and any relevant legal or regulatory frameworks
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and outages.
Skills/Experience required:
- The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of applied experience as a Windows Systems Engineer with additional experience of supporting enterprise level applications based on a Windows/O365 environment.
- Experience working in Financial Services environment is essential
- Proven experience as a Windows System Administrator or currently in a similar role
- Solid understanding of Active Directory Services (DNS/DHCP/FSMO/ADFS/SSO/ADCS)
- Experience of Bloomberg/Reuters trading applications highly advantageous.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN
- Scripting skills desirable (eg PowerShell, Batch Scripting) for automating routine tasks and deployments
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot systems issues and applications in a logical and level-headed manner.
