27.00/hour (Monday-Friday, up to 38 hours)
35.10/hour (Overtime after 38 hours and on Saturdays)
45.90/hour (Sundays)
Lodge Allowance: Available for operatives travelling over 50 miles
Duration: 8-12 months
Hours:
Monday-Thursday: 11 hours/day
Friday-Sunday: 8 hours/day
Total: Up to 68 hours/week
Overview:
LRL are currently recruiting experienced Electricians for a major heavy industrial installation project in Chester. The work involves a variety of installation tasks in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment. This is a long-term opportunity for skilled electricians with a strong background in industrial projects.
Scope of Work:
Installation of heavy-duty cable containment systems (e.g. ladder racks)
Pulling in and terminating SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) cables to switch rooms and various field locations
Wiring, glanding, and terminating control cabling for incoming supply transformers
Testing of electrical systems to industry standards
General lighting and power installation in and around the main building
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 5-10 years of experience in heavy industrial environments such as Energy from Waste (EFW), Gas & Oil, Petrochemical, OCGT or CCGT plants
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent (required)
Completed apprenticeship (required)
Gold ECS Card (required)
CCNSG Safety Passport or equivalent site safety qualification (required)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (required)
City & Guilds 2391-52 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent (highly preferred)
CompEx 01-04 (desirable)

Our client is looking for an electrical maintenance engineer to be the ‘go to person’ on site, responding to breakdowns that occur and adhering to the PPM schedule. You will have experience working within a fast paced environment and have the ability to take your hand to a variety of machines, electrically with some mechanical work. There will be elements of lone working. You'll be the only Maintenance Engineer on site after 6pm.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Identify spare parts to carry out repairs and order through appropriate channels
- Electrical Installations in accordance with Electricity at Work regulations (17th Edition Training is essential)
- PLC Fault Finding ability. PLC programming is not expected but would advantageous
- Extensive knowledge and experience with electrical fault finding
- Maintain plant & equipment according to manufacturers instructions
- Able to read, understand and diagnose electrical faults utilising Equipment Electrical Drawings
Skills and Qualifications
- Training in or experience of General H&S Regulations, carrying out Risk Assessments and producing Method Statements
- Must be experienced and self-motivated and able to identify concerns / defects without direction.
- Minimum 2 years experience as an Electrician or Multi-skilled Engineer, in a busy manufacturing environment, after finishing a full electrical apprenticeship
