WSP are seeking Chartered Civil Engineers with experience in Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management for River Scour and Lead Local Flood Authority programme delivery support and to expand the growth of our expertise and technical capability. Within our River and Coastal Engineering team we support clients and projects throughout the UK with a focus on Local Authorities, Network Rail, Highways, Environment Agency and major infrastructure projects including offshore wind, desalination plants and submarine cables, providing modelling, appraisal and feasibility studies, business cases and designs from concept through to detailed designs.
As part of the role, you will be responsible for:
+ providing technical support and expertise for our rivers, scour and coastal civil engineering design teams;
+ supporting on the delivery of proposals;
+ mentoring and helping to develop our Apprentices, Graduates and Early Career Professionals;
+ contributing to our Innovation Accelerator program and Research and Development programmes;
+ supporting our delivery of local authority FCERM programmes
We are looking for candidates who are Chartered Civil Engineers, with experience in Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management, ideally some experience in scour assessment and scour repair design but not essential. Our preferred location for a candidate would be the South West of England, to work from our Exeter or Bristol offices, but other locations nationwide would be considered.

As a Senior/Principal Engineer, you will be pivotal in driving the delivery of civil and bridge engineering projects and will use your knowledge and skills to deliver the right quality to time and budget. You will use those attributes to mentor and support junior team members.
In this role your responsibilities will include:
+ Bridge design, both in the UK and overseas;
+ Bridge management;
+ Bridge strengthening and repair, inspections and assessments;
+ General civil and structural engineering support to other teams;

+ Preparation of documents, reports and health and safety risk assessments, scheme designs and drawings, scheme feasibility studies and outline cost estimates;

**What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.**
It is anticipated that you will be a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer. It is expected that this experience will include the following:
+ Practical knowledge and experience of bridge design, maintenance and assessment, gained from working on both construction sites and the design office;
+ Practical knowledge and experience of project management of bridge projects;
+ Proven knowledge in design, maintenance and supervision of structures related projects together with a track record of innovation in design and management of structures. Ideally this should include new build, maintenance, assessment and strengthening of bridges and civil structures infrastructure;
+ Proven working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW) in relation to structural schemes;
+ Understanding and experience of use of Eurocodes and their application to bridge design;
+ Experience of design in or assessment of steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete bridge structures;
+ Experience of grillage, space frame and finite element analysis software packages such as LUSAS, Superstress and SAM;

About the Role:

We are seeking a fully qualified and experienced Approved Electrician to join our expanding team, delivering high-quality electrical installations across both domestic and commercial sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in the installation of EV charge points and AC works associated with Solar PV systems. You will be working on a variety of projects including residential properties, commercial buildings, and light industrial sites throughout the South East. The role requires a strong understanding of current electrical regulations and a proactive, problem-solving approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation, testing, and commissioning of EV charge points (domestic and commercial)

• AC electrical works relating to Solar PV systems (inverter connection, mains distribution, system integration)

• Periodic inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations (EICs, EICRs, Minor Works)

• Fault finding, diagnostics, and maintenance of existing installations • Ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards and complies with current IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671)

• Liaising with customers, project managers, and team members to ensure timely project delivery

• Accurate completion of job reports and certification using electronic systems

Requirements:

• Fully qualified electrician - NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

• City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (Inspection & Testing)

• 18th Edition (BS7671) Wiring Regulations

• Valid ECS Gold Card (Approved Electrician level)

• Proven experience in both domestic and commercial electrical installations

• EV charging installation experience (e.g., Alfen, Autel, Alpitronic, etc.)

• Good understanding of AC side works for Solar PV installations

• Full UK driving licence

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

• City & Guilds (EV Charging Equipment Installation)

• Experience with battery storage systems

• Solar PV accreditation (e.g., MCS-related knowledge)

About the Role: As a CBRE Electrical Technician, you will inspect, repair, replace, install, wire, adjust, and maintain all equipment for an assigned location. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. What You'll Do: - Review and follow instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection of work to be done. - Advise when the immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage, or when temporarily continued operations will have no harmful effect. - Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, etc. electrical equipment taking all safety precautions. - Make mechanical repairs as required in connection with the servicing of electrical equipment. - Install, splice, or replace sections of wire incidental to repair or temporary installation. - Make emergency mechanical repairs without other maintenance personnel. - Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion. - Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail. - Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance. + As a principal mechanical engineer you will be taking a leading role in a number of our most prestigious projects.
**General**
+ Work in a joint leadership capacity within a mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) discipline team providing design and technical advice in a WSP project manager capacity on a wide range of projects.
+ Supervise the completion of detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function
+ Consider the feasibility of the project and lead the overall feasibility study
+ Take responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed/performance specification
+ Act as the client's key point of contact and responsible for overall project delivery in terms of client deliverables and internal KPI's
**Business Development**
+ Provide excellent client care & the opportunities to develop additional business for the team

**Management**

**Your Team**
+ Our team is comprised of 10 engineers and part of a wider group of 35 engineers working across the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health specialisms in Guildford and Basingstoke.
+ Whilst our core team is Heathrow based, we have a ability of work from our Southampton, Basingstoke and Guildford sites, or from home, for some of the week. Many of our team choose to alternate the office they work in to suit personal needs.
+ You will be reporting to our Heathrow Director, Huso Yildirim, and be responsible for both technical and project delivery elements.
+ You will have a team of graduate, senior and principle engineers in supporting roles around you, as well as dedicated BIM and Sustainability specialists to contribute to your projects.
**What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.**
+ Have the ability to work as part of a team, but also take a leading role in managing engineers towards the delivery of our key projects.
+ Be able to apply technical judgment and resourcefulness to feasibility studies, concept, scheme and detailed design, as well as construction support phases of projects
+ Able to represent WSP to our clients, whilst also understanding and delivering client needs in engineering solutions.
+ Have a working knowledge of UK mechanical building services design, including relevant standards, codes and regulations and a proven track record of delivering a variety of UK Building Services MEP (Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) projects both in terms of scale and sector.
+ Have a working understanding of latest mechanical design software packages to allow the allocation / direction of work on projects.
+ Proven understanding of working with Revit MEP or other 3D design software to allow the allocation / direction of work on projects.
+ Be able to manage the technical, cost and programme elements of project delivery.
