Our client are a well established UK commercial building services organisation, with a requirement for an electrically biased shift engineer to work on a high profile commercial M&E maintenance contract. Working as part of a multi-skilled team covering planned and reactive maintenance to electrical and HVAC systems, the shift pattern is 4 on (2 days and 2 nights) 4 off. Basic salary is 2,000 per annum plus ,000 shift allowance.
 
The ideal candidate will have a background in Data Centre / Critical site engineering & property maintenance, however our client is also keen to hear from electricians from a building services background that want to get into the data centre industry, and will provide training for the right candidate. Good knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical Plant such as LV/HV Switchboards, PDU’s, UPS, Chillers, AHU’s, Generators, Pumps & BMS. Ideally you will have relevant HV/LV qualifications or the experience to become an AP. Must be able to work independently when required (particularly on night shifts).

- Engineering, development, integration and validation of various electrical modules (ECUs, Sensors and Actuators etc.) into the overall vehicle electrical architecture in collaboration with Functional Departments, technical partners and Tier 1 suppliers.
- The Senior role will require to be working in some of the key areas as owners for electrical modules
- Central Compute Unit and Zonal Controllers within top of the range zonal architecture
- Autonomous Drive / ADAS components e.g. LiDAR, RADAR, Camera Modules, Ultrasonic Sensors etc.
- Body Security Components e.g. Body / Zonal Controller, Keys, Alcolock etc.
- Development and maintenance of requirements specifications, timing plans, systems calibration and validation requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Guidance to EDS and Packaging teams to ensure that control units, modules and peripherals are correctly located and packaged in accordance with installation and wiring requirements.
- Manage compliance with any necessary functional safety, legislative, electrical, environmental and EMC requirements.
- Lead system review, verification & validation activities including FMEAs, test planning and functionality tests throughout the development lifecycle.
- Represent the Electrical Department in status meetings and engineering reviews. Also represent GMT in external working groups relating to the responsible components / ECUs.
- Fault identification and resolution including management of issues to closure following a robust 8D process. Acting as an authority for concessions or escalate as required.
- Supplier management and co-ordination including support for Procurement, Logistics and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provision of support and training to Manufacturing and Service departments.
- Responsible for Commodity attributes such as Quality, Costs, Timing, Weight
- Responsible to deliver commodities within budget through regular supplier liaison and tracking DVP status, meeting all legislative requirements.
- Manage third party supplier across various prototype / development builds
- Leadership/participation in system review, verification & validation activities.
- Responsible for DFMEA, DVP&R (Electrical & Mechanical), PV sign-off, Engineering Sign-off
- Support Sub-system Design Reviews, DFMEA and Supplier FMEAs
- Tier 1 supplier management and co-ordination including support for Procurement, Logistics and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support various prototype and development builds including labcar / test rig build where required
- Work closely with other departments such as Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Programs, Logistics, Service and workshops
Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience within the respective area applying for
- Understanding Automotive New Product Development Process, Milestones and deliverables for each phases
- Demonstrable experience of automotive electrical components’ design, development and manufacture
- Good experience and knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, ECUs and other electrically wired components
- Working knowledge of CAN, FlexRay, automotive ethernet, LIN networks and vehicle diagnostics.
- Working knowledge of relevant homologation standards, ISO26262 and EuroNCAP
- Understanding of Functional Safety and Cyber Security requirements for a global market vehicle
- Experience in design for good electrical and EMC performance.
- Established contacts within the automotive eco-system including Tier 1 and component suppliers.
- Knowledge of hybrid and full-electric electrical vehicle architectures and wiring systems would be advantageous.
- Experience of visualisation using CATIA V5 or V6 or lightweight file viewers would be useful.
- Excellent understanding of 2D drawings, electrical circuits
- Experience in creating Engineering Change Requests and managing the implementation of the changes through design release internally and externally.
- Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc).
- Experience in leading DFMEA and System (Electrical Interface) Reviews
- Working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards
- Experience is harness testing & validation process and engineering sign-off
- Ability to use various engineering development tools such JIRA, Polarion etc. and collaborative platforms such as Microsoft Office 365.

The Development Infrastructure department specialises in providing high level advice and design to public and private sector clients on planning and design issues relating to Highways, Drainage, Flood Protection, Earthworks and Service Co-ordination on Public Sector works, Residential Developments, Business Parks, Retail, Industrial and Commercial Developments.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Development Infrastructure engineers of all levels, to provide support to the development infrastructure across the North of the UK. Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Glasgow. The opportunity would involve:
+ Working within a team to produce designs and drawings for construction projects and deliver technical reports for master planning and to support planning applications. You can expect to be active on a number of projects and client accounts at any given time. You will report to an Associate Director.
+ Working as a design engineer working within teams to produce designs and drawings to support planning applications and construction.
+ Working on a number of projects and client accounts, liaising with clients at a local and national level.
+ Mentoring and managing early career professionals ensuring technical excellence is in everything we deliver.
+ Day to day project management support in the delivery of concept studies and strategies with hands on design, leading to planning applications or construction drawing issue.
**What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.**
+ A civil engineering degree and be approaching Chartered status with experience in highway and highway drainage design.
+ You will have post graduate experience in a civil engineering working environment.
+ Experience in producing masterplans, site appraisals, write reports to support planning applications, design calculations and construction drawings.
+ You will have a knowledge of and ability to deliver highway design, highway drainage principles (layout, parameters, etc.), surface water and foul drainage designs.
+ Experience in the use of Windes drainage software and PDS or Civils 3D modelling software together with experience in applying Highways England and Local Authority design guidance.
+ The ability to work effectively with colleagues including more senior and junior staff in producing designs, drawings and reports.
+ Knowledge of the relevant design codes such as DMRB, Local Authority Highway and Water Authority Design Guides and be well versed in the preparation of drawings for S38 and S278 Highway Agreements as well as S106 Drainage Agreements.
+ A Consultancy or Development background with a balance of private and public sector work.
+ You will contribute to the delivery of concept studies and strategies with hands on design, leading to planning applications or construction drawing issue.
+ You will have proven experience and an interest in helping the junior members of the team in producing designs.
