Our client is looking for a diligent and proactive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join their operations team. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations across various client sites and internal operations. As an EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust EHS policies and procedures. Your duties will include conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards, and recommending appropriate control measures to mitigate risks. You will investigate incidents and accidents, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Furthermore, you will develop and deliver EHS training programmes to employees at all levels, promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organisation. This position requires a thorough understanding of current UK health and safety legislation, environmental regulations, and best practices in occupational health. Experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) and health and safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001) is highly desirable. You will also be responsible for preparing EHS reports and maintaining accurate records. This is a fully remote role, requiring excellent communication and self-management skills to effectively oversee EHS compliance without direct on-site supervision. You will need to be adept at virtual auditing and remote employee engagement. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a commitment to fostering a safe and healthy working environment. A relevant EHS qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma) is essential.
