We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site has been instrumental in the research, development, and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre 2, Free Style Libre 3 and the Libre Sense system.
**The Role:**
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Environmental Monitoring Group as an Operations Scientist. In this role, you will be part of a small and friendly team, you will ensure that cleanroom monitoring activities are completed to maintain the sterility assurance level in our Witney manufacturing facility.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Perform routine environmental monitoring of cleanrooms, including air, surface, and compressed air sampling.
+ Conduct particle counts, microbial sampling, and other tests.
+ Maintain detailed records of all monitoring activities.
+ Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory standards.
+ Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to address any issues.
+ Calibrate and maintain monitoring equipment.
+ Participate in internal and external audits.
+ Develop and implement cleanroom protocols and procedures.
+ Advise and mentor manufacturing personnel on cleanroom best practices.
+ Liaise with service provider and check returned data for accuracy.
**Qualifications:**
We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, a logical and methodical approach to problem-solving, and the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing circumstances or new demands. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with colleagues across various departments.
Hands-on practical skills, or the ability to develop them, are important as you will spend time in the manufacturing facility. Proficiency in IT skills, including Excel and PowerPoint, is also required.
Ideal candidates will have a degree level education in a science based subject. While industry experience in an ISO cleanroom environment is preferred, it is not essential as full training will be provided.
