The Validus Global Capital Markets team executes more than half a trillion dollars in derivatives transactions annually across FX, Rates, Equity and Commodity markets. About the Capital Markets Function at Validus:

Based in London (Europe) and Toronto (North America), the Capital Markets function provides specialist front, middle and back office outsourced services for our client base of private capital managers, institutional investors and corporate clients. Pricing and trade execution of FX spot, forwards, swaps, and options via our various execution channels.

  • Monitoring of client positions using our bespoke RiskView technology
  • Preparing market insights for clients
  • Preparing trade requests for senior traders
  • Ensuring accurate trade capture where necessary
  • Monitoring FX and rates markets to proactively assist our clients with the risk management of their exposures
  • Ensuring client best execution and trading processes are adhered to in every transaction
  • Managing counterparty relationships (banks, dealers)
  • Carrying out adhoc project work and any other ancillary task as assigned by the Department Head

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of professional training experience in the relevant field - experience in FX preferable
  • Experience with electronic trading systems preferred (FXall, FXConnect, Bloomberg)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Postgraduate/undergraduate degree in a quantitative subject (e.g. finance, economics, engineering, math, statistics)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Interest in FX markets and macro drivers
