One of four (Chemical Process, Enrichment, Site Services Waste & Decommissioning Operations) Directorate HSSE Services Managers that provide frontline Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) advice to their Directorate and partner with the HSE Shared Service and CNO leadership to ensure appropriate service delivery into the business unit.
NEED:
- Industrial safety (decommissioning)

- Plan and lead the delivery of compliance related longer term goals, strategy and mission in line with the HSE vision, with consideration to the needs of the Waste and Decommissioning function
- Understanding regulators such as Office of Nuclear Regulation and Environment Agency
- Managing the relationship with Regulators
- Indirect reporting line to the Head of Site HSE to provide leadership and wider collaboration across the HSE Function and appropriate escalation route

To achieve this they co-operate with the HSE Shared Service and CNO departments to ensure provision of the required services from within the HSE and CNO department, to the required quality and at the required time. Acting as the focal point for these services within the business centres, ensuring that the necessary advice and guidance in relation to compliance matters is in place and managed effectively.
In addition will be responsible for providing advice and guidance in relation to complex HSE queries, thus enabling the Directorate and the wider organisation to operate in a safe, secure, legally compliant, cost effective and consistent manner, reflecting good practice in support of their business objectives
The HSSE Services Manager is an employee of the Directorate and a member of the Directorate LT. They work collaboratively with the HSE Shared Service and CNO function as intelligent customers, to ensure that each Directoratereceives the support it requires on a risk-based approach, given an integrating URENCO Capenhurst site. Although they are the Intelligent Customer for a range of subject matters (with input provided from within the Shared Service) they provide day-to-day guidance and advice to their employing Directorate, in particular relating to strategic and cultural considerations.
Note that whilst there are consistent themes across the four Directorates (e.g. security, environmental protection) the Directorates also have different operating considerations that impact on the focus of the individual HSE Manager roles
Chemical Process - Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) (process safety management), radiation safety, industrial safety
Waste and Decommissioning - Industrial safety (decommissioning), radiation safety, nuclear safety
Enrichment- Nuclear safety (particularly criticality), radiation safety, industrial safety
Whilst the role does not have any organisational direct reports, the HSSE Services Manager is expected to provide leadership and task management oversight for HSE services delivered into their organisation and therefore is required to:
1. Understand and collate the demand for services, agree with the Directorate LT on the priority of work and work with the HSE Department and CNO to ensure provision of a consistent and resourced plan for the HSE Department and CNO.
2. Ensure the required HSSE services are suitably defined and executed to agreed service levels, by working with the HSSE leadership and CNO to co-ordinate delivery.
Plan and lead the delivery of compliance related longer term goals, strategy and mission in line with the HSE vision, with consideration to the needs of the individual Directorates ensuring that its interests and issues are addressed through the broader organization.
