Job Description
Network Engineer / Systems Administrator
This is a varied role with lots of autonomy and is principally remote. It's with a long-standing client of ours who are a successful, innovative and award-winning VoIP service provider.
You'll be joining a small, geographically dispersed team of network engineers and systems administrators. You'll be looking after the running of the infrastructure that underpins the company's VoIP services. That entails as much time working on the Linux-based server estate as it will working on routers, switches etc (hence our hedging bets a bit with the job title!)
This is an exciting time to be in the VoIP industry, with changes (such as the PSTN switch-off) presenting plenty of opportunities and challenges. You'll get the opportunity to help introduce new technology and services as well as managing what's already there.
The company has a fully remote working model (with a standard 9-5:30 working day to ensure easy collaboration across time zones, as some of the team are overseas). This role will involve occasional visits to kit based at two London-based data centres (maybe once/month) but is otherwise fully home-based. With that in mind you should be in reasonably easy reach of London.

- Travel to data centres when required
- Liaising with suppliers and co-ordinating remote-hands support when needed
- Writing and maintaining documentation
- Conducting regular audits
