Job Description
Our client , a forward-thinking international mining and resources company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geologist specializing in Resource Estimation to join their global team on a fully remote basis. This critical role will involve the generation and validation of geological models and resource estimates for various mining projects, contributing significantly to the company's strategic decision-making and investment planning. You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting geological data, including drill core logs, assay results, and geophysical surveys, to build robust three-dimensional geological models. Utilizing industry-standard software, you will perform geostatistical analysis and resource classification according to recognized international codes (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101). Key responsibilities include designing and overseeing exploration drilling programs, conducting field validations, and liaising with geologists, engineers, and management to ensure the accuracy and reliability of resource reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background in Geology or a related field, coupled with substantial practical experience in resource estimation for various commodities. Excellent proficiency with geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Micromine) and geostatistical packages (e.g., GSLIB, Supervisor) is essential. You must be adept at working independently, managing multiple projects concurrently, and communicating complex geological concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
