JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Architecture & Engineering Design - Creative directs the management of the Architectural & Engineering Design and programming documentation effort within Creative Studio and projects. Responsible for the coordination of work of outside contract firms, project partners, stakeholders, and other in-house teams to ensure projects are consistent with and in support of the overall creative and facility plan vision. Serves as a department resource for Creative projects. Supports approved strategies into short-term and mid-term objectives and plans. Ensures team collaborates and prepares for project transition to the project development team.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (% of time)
+ Directs the coordination between the project design team and the (Facility) Architecture and Engineering vendors including the development of all preliminary facility program input and any other exhibits needed to convey design intent. Actively participate in the preparation of the design drawings and exhibits. Reviews the drawings and specifications to ensure that they meet the creative and design intent, satisfy the development criteria and are complete and accurate for transition to the project development team - 30%
+ Accountable for team's ability to identify, develop and define FOH and BOH Program requirements by ongoing interface with UPR Business teams, Operational teams and Creative Teams. Ensure program requirements are thoroughly addressed, vetted, incorporated and met within the project design efforts to ensure creative and technical delivery, operational functionality, thorough and quality design, and cost effectiveness - 20%
+ Supports the management of the Facility Architecture and Engineering scope of work / request for proposal documents, the selection and pre-qualification of potential Architecture and Engineering vendors, the response to questions / clarification during the proposal process, the analysis of the proposals and the development of the recommendation for the vendors. Reviews requests for additional services, preparation of directives, the negotiation of all changes and the incorporation of any agreed upon changes into the vendors agreement - 20%
+ Reviews weekly and monthly progress reports on the status of each project and other outside Architecture and Engineering design efforts. Directs efforts to address trends and changes - 20%

Manage the planning and area development design for the resort roadways and back of house areas, focusing on site planning, placemaking, and soft/hard landscape design solutions.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (% of time)
+ Provides area development and landscape specific designs for resort-wide projects, collaborating with in-house teams and external consultants. Contributes to the layout of roadways, parking, hotels, back-of-house facilities, and other resort components. Develops and manages detailed design plans with consideration given to building massing, parking, water conveyance and retention, open spaces, access points, vehicular and pedestrian circulation, hardscape and landscape areas. Prepares plans and illustrations to convey the thematic environment and design intent - 30%
+ Assists the Planning & Area Development Design management team with a focus on landscape and hardscape design including plant selection that achieves thematic and operational goals - 20%
+ Analyses site constraints and proposes solutions related to placemaking, guest circulation, planting areas, landscape materials, hardscape, guest facing and service integration, and transportation/EVA requirements. Supports all phases of design (RIBA Phase 2-4), coordinating closely with design, operations, consultants, and project management to maintain design intent and budget alignment. Presents designs and interfaces with project teams at each design phase. Manages and supports the construction and installation of the design - 20%
+ Interfaces with outside vendors, as directed by management, to ensure alignment with project goals - 15%
+ Works within the team environment to help maintain common cost/schedule goals - 10%
+ Interfaces with Universal staff for on-going quality control - 5%
+ Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
+ Potential direct and indirect supervision of contractors and/or consultants depending on the project.
+ Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organisation's policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS
+ Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

EDUCATION
+ Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, or equivalent required. Master's degree in Landscape Architecture preferred.
EXPERIENCE
+ Relevant landscape architecture and planning experience with a focus on theme park & resort development required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job summary In coordination with the Director of Education or Program Leader (PL), the role is responsible for supporting the management and coordination of the assigned courses, ensuring compliance with academic standards and accreditation requirements. Additionally, the Course Leader will play a key role in the development and delivery of online and blended learning, incorporating innovative digital teaching strategies, enhancing student engagement, and ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in virtual learning environments. The role also involves contributing to the improvement of the students' learning experience and supporting the development of curriculum and academic projects in partnership with companies in the luxury sector. The Course Leader will be a key member of the teaching faculty, actively contributing to course delivery across multiple programmes. Key purpose of the role Courses Management Support – Supports the coordination and quality assurance of the courses -within the assigned teaching area: support in developing course content and material, ensuring that academic and scientific results meet required standards; . Supports the Director of Education or PL in the process of maintaining accreditation requirements and ensuring the delivery of high-quality educational outcomes set at company level. Actively participate in organizing and monitoring course assessments and student performance. Faculty Management Support – Supports the Director of Education or PL in the management of the faculty for the assigned teaching area. Actively collaborates in monitoring academic activities in terms of teaching quality standards and students’ experience . Supports the Director of Education or PL in the recruitment process for new academic staff, as well as providing feedback on teaching performance. Students' Tutoring & Supervision – Contributes in supporting students' academic success in the assigned courses by engaging in regular tutoring activities and academic supervision Ensures that students receive consistent support throughout their studies, including during thesis work and other key projects. Reviews student feedback collected thorough student voice to improve the learning experience and contribute to achieving student satisfaction goals which meet defined targets. Effectively utilise Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) to enhance student learning, foster collaboration, and provide timely feedback. Advocate for the integration of emerging digital learning technologies, including AI, adaptive learning, and immersive tools, to enrich the learning experience. Curriculum Development & Enhancement - Actively contributes to the development and enhancement of the curriculum, ensuring it meets both academic and industry standards. Supports course content revisions, including assessments, delivery methods, and learning outcomes. Works collaboratively with the Director of Education or PL to implement changes based on feedback from students and industry partners. Supports the integration of innovative teaching methods to maintain relevance within the luxury sector. Academic & Industry Projects – Supports the Director of Education or PL in the implementation of academic projects in partnership with the main industries in the luxury sector (e.g.,fashion, design, art). Participates in coordinating industry visits, exhibitions, and other events that connect academic learning with industry practice. R&D – CV Development – Takes responsibility for developing their own academic profile in line with the institution’s expectations. Actively participates in professional development activities and encourages continuous learning within the teaching team. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends and best practices in the relevant academic and industry sectors.
