Job Description
Carmichael UK are working with a Tier 1 contractor delivering a major infrastructure project in the Berkshire area. We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer with a strong background in engineering and design coordination to join an established team on a high-profile scheme.
You will play a key role in ensuring design intent is accurately translated into the works on site, managing interfaces between design and delivery, and providing high-level technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities-
Act as the main technical point of contact between design and site delivery teams

Review and interpret design drawings and specifications, identifying buildability and coordination issues

Provide design input and engineering solutions to support construction planning and sequencing
-
Manage temporary works design coordination and approval
-
Ensure works are delivered in line with technical standards, quality requirements, and client expectations
-
Mentor and support site engineers, promoting best practice and continuous improvement
-
Liaise with designers, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve technical queries
-
Oversee setting out, as-built records, and assurance documentation where required
-
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent
-
Proven experience in major civil engineering or infrastructure projects (Tier 1 contractor preferred)

Strong understanding of design coordination, assurance, and technical governance processes

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
-
Proficient in AutoCAD and modern surveying techniques

Temporary Works knowledge advantageous

CSCS card (minimum), SMSTS and First Aid desirable

**About You**
We are looking for someone who has a passion for solving engineering problems, the ability to lead and inspire and the confidence to drive through challenging solutions. You will be a degree qualified (or equivalent) Engineer and ideally chartered, or a member of a relevant engineering institution (e.g. ICE). Support can be given to achieve this if required.
You will also have experience of leading multidisciplinary teams within the engineering or utilities sectors, delivering expert design solutions to clientele.
