Job Role
- li>Adherence to the plan, specification and programme of works
- Required to prepare progress reports, monitor programmes and sign off quality control documents
- Aware of cost and managing delegated budgets, working closely with QS to optimise the profitability of projects
- Co-ordinate all Team Members set and update work objectives for teams and individuals. Plan activities and agree work methods to achieve objectives
- Allocate work and evaluate teams, individuals and self against objectives, ensuring that no task is beyond the team member’s capabilities < i>Ensure that induction is rigorously carried out and records completed
- Ensuring that all tradesmen have the appropriate material and equipment in order to be able to achieve their designated tasks
- Ensuring that the site environment is satisfactory
- Responsible for the quality of all work carried out on the site whether undertaken by staff or contractors
Requirements
- Proven track record of Site Management
- Experience in running Social Housing projects from start to finish
- In date SMSTS qualification
- First Aid at work
- Asbestos Awareness (is desirable but not essential)

About the Opportunity
This full-time role is perfectly suited for candidates located within the East Midlands to Crewe corridor , with regular travel to various project sites nationwide. You'll be instrumental in managing a wide array of commercial soft flooring schemes , spanning sectors such as healthcare, education, retail, and corporate spaces. Your focus will be on the direct supervision and coordination of site activities for carpet, vinyl, safety flooring, LVT, and similar soft flooring installations .
You will take complete ownership of the on-site delivery process-meticulously managing labour, materials, project timelines, and ensuring all work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
As a Site/Project Manager , you will:
Lead On-Site Delivery: Drive the end-to-end execution of soft flooring projects from site setup to final handover, ensuring all on-site elements are delivered precisely to programme and budget.
Direct Site Coordination: Directly oversee and coordinate site teams, specialist flooring installers, and subcontractors, ensuring all works are completed to exact specification, adhere strictly to quality standards, and comply fully with health and safety regulations.
On-Site Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, main contractors, and design teams, providing regular progress updates and proactively resolving any site-related issues or challenges.
Logistics & Material Management: Manage the accurate ordering, timely scheduling, and efficient coordination of soft flooring materials and equipment deliveries to site, ensuring seamless integration with project timelines.
Quality Control & Compliance: Rigorously monitor and inspect the quality of soft flooring installations, ensuring strict adherence to technical requirements, manufacturer guidelines, and project documentation for sign-off and handover.
Health & Safety Champion: Implement, enforce, and maintain robust health and safety protocols on site, conducting regular toolbox talks, site inductions, and risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a highly experienced, proactive, and hands-on Site Manager with significant expertise in the direct delivery of commercial soft flooring projects .
Essential Requirements:
Demonstrable experience managing commercial soft flooring installations (including carpet, vinyl, safety flooring, LVT, or similar materials) from site preparation through to completion.
Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to effectively manage, motivate, and coordinate multiple live sites and diverse site teams.
Exceptional on-site communication skills, confidently liaising with clients, main contractors, suppliers, and installation teams.
Thorough understanding and practical application of health and safety procedures specific to construction sites and flooring installations.
Flexibility to travel extensively across the UK as required (vehicle or mileage provided).
Highly Desirable:
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) qualification.
Valid CSCS card .
In-depth knowledge of various soft flooring systems, installation techniques, and leading manufacturers.
