Job Description: Funds Finance Lawyer Our customer, a UK based international law firm are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Funds Finance Lawyer to join the law firm for a 6-month contract. This is a full-time role, with hybrid to work from the office 3 days per week, based in London. Key Responsibilities: As a Funds Finance Lawyer, you will be part of a leading team with extensive expertise in financing for funds across key jurisdictions, including the UK, Luxembourg, the US, and the Asia Pacific region. You will also have the opportunity to work with offshore jurisdictions such as Jersey, Guernsey, and the Cayman Islands. Your duties will include: Advising on a wide range of fund finance matters, including subscription, NAV, pre-fund close bridges, end-of-life financing, co-investment, and management company financings. Providing expertise on financing for direct lending, special situations, private equity, secondaries, infrastructure funds, and more. Working across all facility and fund types, ensuring high-quality and strategic advice for clients. Collaborating with colleagues and clients across multiple jurisdictions to deliver integrated legal solutions. Key Requirements: Senior Associate level with strong experience in private practice. Expertise in fund finance, particularly in financing for funds across key jurisdictions including the UK, Luxembourg, the US, and Asia Pacific. Demonstrated experience covering a wide range of facility and fund types, including subscription, NAV, pre-fund close bridges, end-of-life financing, co-investment, and management company financings. In this role, you will be part of the team supporting the Head of Legal Services to plan ahead and deliver our business strategy in line with our long-term goals and to build and maintain a first class in house legal department which ensures an efficient, hands-on and customer-centric service to the Bank and its clients.

  • Good understanding of the regulatory environment the Bank operates in. Knowledge or and/or experience in private banking is a plus.

Please note: This role is office-based in Central London and requires attendance five days a week.


Role Purpose


You will provide legal support for securitisation and funding transactions, working closely with the Treasury team, other members of Legal, and external counsel. You will ensure that transactions are executed smoothly and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.


Key Responsibilities

Job Description

A new opportunity to join our European Legal team, reporting to Head of Institutional Group Legal. The role can be based at our London, Paris or Frankfurt Offices.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Lead, guide, negotiate and draft transactional legal activities in the UK and Europe, to ensure transactions, policies, and procedures are conducted in accordance with all relevant laws and government policies and support the long-term business objectives.
  • Become a trusted advisor to the Stifel Europe senior stakeholders. Build strong relationships and work alongside senior management to assist them in delivering their strategic aims.
  • Provide commercially aware challenge to the business including strategy, business processes, procedures, new initiatives and products and other areas with a legal implication.
  • Ensure strong lines of communication and collaboration with the General Counsel and the legal team in the US. Work closely and communicate proactively with the other lawyers in the organisation to ensure that there is a co-ordinated and common approach to legal risk management.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with external legal advisors and other external stakeholders.
  • Proactively advise the business in identifying and managing legal matters.
  • Ensure the legal and regulatory framework within which Stifel Europe operates remains appropriate for the size and nature of the business.
  • Keep pace with changes in legislation, regulation, and market practice. Advise senior management on how to adapt to new legislation to best effect. Provide support with regulators if necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues so that the team performs to the highest standards.
  • The successful candidate will:
  • Be a qualified lawyer with a strong understanding of Europe-wide capital markets transactions and the broader investment banking activities that Stifel Europe engages in.
  • Have high-quality experience obtained in either a senior in-house position or with a respected law firm, or both.
