Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a key business and influential player in the biogas sector. We're looking to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor, based at their asset near Dungannon, to join the team with the ultimate goal of driving a positive SHEQ ethos across the company.
The Health and Safety Advisor role comes with an excellent salary dependant on experience, along with an excellent benefits package.

Reporting to the Head of SHEQ you will:
- Assist on the health, safety, environmental and quality processes and management systems across the anaerobic digestion asset
- Carry out weekly and monthly inspections, documenting and logging all findings
- Help in managing the PAS110 certification
- Provide specific and relevant SHEQ advice to operational staff on site
- Help with the development of a SHEQ centric culture and ethos, ensuring that operational staff see SHEQ as an important part of their role
- Look for continuous improvement opportunities across the site, looking to implement these where possible
- Closely monitor all SHEQ legislation and regulation, ensuring that you update all relevant personnel when required
- Assist with the implementation and maintainenance of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO 45001
- Help to standardise HSEQ practices across the company
- Attend and positively contribute to SHEQ meetings, both internally and externally
- Plan and undertake monitoring and auditing of the site, operations, and procedures in support of regulatory compliance
- Occasional travel to England sites may be required
- Other duties as required
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- A higher education / qualification in Health and Safety
- An appropriate membership is desired, ie IEMA, IOSH etc but not essemtial
- Experience in the anaerobic digestion, energy from waste sector, or similar heavy process environment
- Preferably an auditing qualification or a minimum of 3 years' auditing experience in at least one of the following standards: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001 but this is not essential
Personal skills
The Health and Safety Advisor role would suit someone who is/has:
- Proven SHEQ experience within a transferable heavy processing environment, such as biogas, water treatment, process plant, or similar
- Comprehensive knowledge of environmental and safety legislations
- Experience in communicating with Environment Agency and other regulatory bodies

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must hold a NEBOSH General Certificate - this is essential. In addition, the following would be advantageous:
- Experience in manufacturing and/or construction environments
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Working knowledge of HSE legislation and industry standards
- Internal auditing experience and familiarity with ISO frameworks
- Membership of IOSH or similar professional body - desirable
