This is a non-treatment role ideal for experienced clinicians who want to apply their expertise in a meaningful, structured way—while enjoying better work-life balance, career progression, and comprehensive support.
What You’ll Be Doing – Your Role as a Disability Assessor As a Disability Assessor, you'll conduct functional health assessments for adult clients only with long-term conditions, disabilities, or mental health challenges.
This is not a diagnostic or treatment role – you’ll use your clinical knowledge to evaluate how a person’s condition affects their day-to-day life.
Main duties include:
Conducting adult-only assessments via telephone, video, and in-person (face-to-face) formats (approximately 70% remote)
Reviewing clinical information and completing structured, evidence-based reports
Assessing a wide range of conditions – including physical, cognitive, and mental health – across adult individuals
Producing clear, impartial reports to support DWP disability benefit decisions
Working autonomously with access to clinical support whenever needed
After 6 months, gaining full diary control and enhanced flexibility
What We're Looking For – Must Haves This role is strictly for qualified healthcare professionals with experience in adult settings:
You must be one of the following (with current registration):
Registered General Nurse (RGN)
Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD)
Physiotherapist
Occupational Therapist
Paramedic
You must also have:
A minimum of 12 months’ post-registration experience (adult-focused)
Strong clinical reasoning and excellent report-writing skills
Good IT skills and the ability to work independently
The ability to commute to Chatham (or surrounding areas) for face-to-face assessments

About the role:
To photograph, edit and make publicly accessible images of the Greece and Rome collection in support of the Museum’s Masterplan, the Museum Operating Plan and all relevant Museum strategies. To improve accessibility of the collection via the Museum’s digital online platforms. To produce digital photographic images and help document objects, to process images by matching them to MI+ collections management database records, and to upload them to the Museum’s image asset management system.
Key areas of responsibility:

- To ensure images are labelled with their MI+ PRN identifier to enable bulk upload to the asset database

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Following appropriate training, supervised practice and competency achievement assessments, you will be able to undertake all designated roles within the surgery team working across two surgical specialities: laser vision correction department (LVC) and ophthalmic (IOL) theatres.
You will also be responsible for the following:
- Pre-operative testing; conducting tests prior to examination and treatment and assisting during the consent appointment process, including providing information to patients prior to their IOL or LVC procedure.
- Patient discharging; instructing the patient pre and post procedure on the care of the eyes, updating medical records, making follow up appointments.
- Laser technician; preparation and calibration of the lasers, understanding data, loading and transferring data, safe running of the lasers.
- Co-ordinating: Controlling patient flow on the day of the consent appointment and surgery appointments to ensure minimum waiting times for patients and managing queries.
- Assisting the surgeon during consent appointments and treatments – acting as scrub assistant (LVC only); taking notes for the surgeon; instilling eye drops.
- Undertaking the role of ‘HCA’ (Healthcare Assistant) in IOL theatre to assist the surgical team and patients during surgery and associated tasks such as decontamination of instruments.
- Actively participating in the end of treatment day activities; updating patient files, filing, compiling ‘end of day’ reports for head office, cleaning the department, stock and lens ordering.
- Reporting untoward incidents – taking an active role in patient safety issues and quality and risk management.
