An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, talented, and experienced Systems Engineer to join GE Vernova Power Conversion's Lead Engineering team.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Systems Integration Engineer to spearhead the integration of rotating electrical machines and their control systems within a major UK Naval project, while leading a dedicated integration team.
This role requires a strong leadership capability, technical expertise in an engineering discipline, and the ability to derive top-level requirements down to sub-system components, ensuring seamless interface management and system integration.
The Lead Systems Integration Engineer will report directly to the Systems Lead Engineering Manager.
**Team Leadership and Management:**
+ Lead and manage a team of system engineers focused on the integration of a rotating electrical machine solution and its associated control systems.

+ Derive top-level requirements and translate them into detailed specifications for sub-system components and manage their traceability.

**Technical Expertise:**
+ Apply engineering principles to address integration challenges related to rotating machines and their control systems.
+ Coordinate system analysis and support verification and validation activities.
**Collaboration and Communication:**
+ Coordinate with project managers, the project engineering manager, project engineers, and stakeholders to facilitate integration activities.
+ Communicate technical progress and findings to internal teams and external stakeholders effectively.
**Documentation and Reporting:**
+ Maintain detailed documentation of integration processes, V&V results, and system configurations.
+ Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements in all activities.
**Continuous Improvement:**
+ Identify and implement opportunities for enhancing integration processes and systems.
+ Monitor, control and manage engineering budgets and change control system.
+ Lead and manage project integration technical risks.
+ Liaise with external stakeholders, partners, sub-contractors and suppliers as appropriate to support the project integration.
+ Maintain engineering quality control system for the project and support APQP deliverables.
**Qualifications/Requirements**
+ Minimum of a Degree or equivalent in engineering or higher, Masters or PhD in relevant field.
+ Extant Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), or the ability to obtain BPSS is required for this role.
+ Proficient with software simulation & design tools, MATLAB, Simulink essential. eTAP desirable.
+ Extensive experience in systems integration, particularly in rotating electrical machines and control systems within the naval or maritime industry.
+ Proven leadership skills with experience managing engineering teams.

**The role:**
The Installation & Acceptance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the process for integrating systems, operations and services within Project Delta.
This project requires the managed integration and delivery of complex devices, consisting of hardware, software and courseware components, interacting with multiple stakeholders from suppliers (who may be within Raytheon UK, or external) to the customer and end-users within UK MOD and is key to the success of the integration activity.
This will be achieved through developing and executing a holistic Integration Strategy and comprehensive Integration Plans, coordinating cross-organisation teams, managing risk and ensuring a smooth transition to achieve the desired business synergies and value realisation.
The fulfilment of integration activities may not be straight-forward, due to Secure by Design approach, contractual restrictions and the challenges of differing levels of security classifications.
The incumbent must, therefore, understand integration management principles, Secure by Design principles as well as Configuration Management, must be able to work in an area of constant change, and be able to build relationships with the organisations supplying the devices, as well as internal and down-stream users.
Personnel assigned to this role possess the basic knowledge, skills and experience but the organization desires the following additional knowledge, skills or experience:

**The role:**
The Installation & Acceptance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the process for integrating systems, operations and services within Project Delta.
This project requires the managed integration and delivery of complex devices, consisting of hardware, software and courseware components, interacting with multiple stakeholders from suppliers (who may be within Raytheon UK, or external) to the customer and end-users within UK MOD and is key to the success of the integration activity.
This will be achieved through developing and executing a holistic Integration Strategy and comprehensive Integration Plans, coordinating cross-organisation teams, managing risk and ensuring a smooth transition to achieve the desired business synergies and value realisation.
The fulfilment of integration activities may not be straight-forward, due to Secure by Design approach, contractual restrictions and the challenges of differing levels of security classifications.
The incumbent must, therefore, understand integration management principles, Secure by Design principles as well as Configuration Management, must be able to work in an area of constant change, and be able to build relationships with the organisations supplying the devices, as well as internal and down-stream users.
Personnel assigned to this role possess the basic knowledge, skills and experience but the organization desires the following additional knowledge, skills or experience:
**Essential:**
+ Background experience of working in a hardware development and/or ITEA, with more recent experience in a managerial or Project Management type role.
+ A knowledge and understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle & ITIL functions, principles and processes.
+ Proven track record in the implementation, delivery, handover and maintenance of complex IT systems in secure environments.
+ Recent practical experience of successfully integrating complex COTS products.
+ Experience implementing integration projects.
+ Problem analysis and resolution in a secure environment.
+ Experience working across all security classifications and delivery of solutions delivered through the Secure by design principles.
+ Ability to quickly form effective working relationships with all stakeholders required.
+ Configuration management processes and systems.
**Desirable:**
+ Preferably have experience working either on a technical level or management level on large complex secure systems
+ An understanding of the Defence system approach to training (DSAT) and/or the integration of training systems to deliver comprehensive training solutions.
+ Managing projects, tasks and deliverables with protective markings or other special handling restrictions.
+ Knowledge of or experience with Site Co-ordinating Installation Design Authority (SCIDA)
+ Experience with Atlassian suite, working with Jira and Confluence.

+ Awareness of NAFv4 and/or TOGAF.

+ Defining the Integration Strategy, including priorities, timelines, and milestones aligned with the overall project's Integrated Management Schedule (IMS).
+ Creating and executing comprehensive Integration Plans, ensuring clearly defined and agreed deliverables, timely delivery, adherence to budget, and management of risk and opportunities.
+ Oversee the integration of the devices from early within the development life cycle through delivery to finally Hand Over, ensuring environmental and security requirements (such as Secure by Design, facilities, security classification and handling) are consider and appropriately addressed with all internal and external stakeholders.
+ Act as the project's subject matter expert and point of contact on the integration, delivery and hand over of the devices to support project requirements.
+ Ensure successful Hand Over through in depth understanding of the acceptance criteria and delivery of all required artefacts including but not limited to Transition to Service Plans, Operation Manuals, Training Guides etc.
+ Ensure systems are in place to demand and manage the integration constraints ahead of fruition, including checks of accuracy and consistency
+ Form exceptional working relationships with all stakeholders including suppliers, invested Raytheon UK Teams and the UK MOD and its contractors (including stakeholders specific to both installation site and installation buildings) to enable the most efficient possible integration and delivery of devices.
+ Work closely with the Training Equipment Manager to ensure that all external requirements of training device teams, both current and future, are met.
+ Work closely with the Information Assurance and Safety & Environmental Engineering Leads to ensure that all requirements of the devices, both current and future, are met.
+ Work closely with the Head of Courseware and Media Development to ensure that all external requirements of the courseware development team, both current and future, are met.
+ Work closely with the Configuration Management team to ensure that existing Raytheon UK and Project Delta processes are adhered to.
+ Work closely with the project Security representatives (physical and electronic) to ensure compliance with existing regulations on handling and storage of protected materials.
