_ Duties _
- Support people in crisis or at times of ill health following a hospital visit and ensure they go home with the correct support to meet their needs.
- You will work with colleagues to plan and provide person-centred care that promotes respect, dignity and personalisation.
- We expect you to ensure high quality care is delivered to service users, helping with their physical and personal needs including the administration of medication, if required.
- Effective communicator both verbally and in writing, with excellent recording skills.
- You will be expected to work as a member of a team.
Skills
- Experience in home care or a similar caring role is essential.
- Familiarity with care plans and procedures within a care home setting is advantageous.
- Proficient in English to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
- Compassionate nature with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Valid driving license to transport residents as needed is required.
All successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS checking.
- Relevant mandatory training will be provided during the induction period.
- You will be working contract hours per week on a set rota which includes weekends and some bank holidays, for which relevant enhancements will be paid.
- Hours of work are between 7am to 10.30pm, depending on the set rota pattern you are allocated and the needs of the service.
- Enhanced rates over weekends and Bank holidays.
- You must have a valid UK driving licence and your own vehicle.

What You’ll Be Doing
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Carer/Support Worker may include assisting service users with personal care, safe lifting and moving, administering medication, meal preparation, and providing general companionship. NWCare is a family run domiciliary care agency serving the community in healthcare in Northern Ireland for well over 50 years.
We are recruitingHome Care Assistants to cover both full time and part time rotas in Rathfriland, Ballyholland and Hilltown. No training or qualifications are required as NWCare provides full bespoke training in their in-house training academy.
We work a 4/3 rota pattern - Week 1 Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday | Week 2 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
The morning rotas begin at 07:00 and finish at 14:30; afternoon rotas begin at 15:00 and finish at 18:30 and the put to bed rotas begin at 19:00 and finish at 23:00.
For mums with no childcare or for students who are at college/university during the day, the bed rotas offer a flexible option to earn extra money.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Full driving licence and access to a motor vehicle
- Great communication skills
- Able to promote and deliver person centered care
- Able to promote dignity and respect when delivering care
- Be well organised/professional/caring
- Interested in working in the community within Health and Social Care
