Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and executing the installation of various HVAC systems, including boilers, air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and associated pipework and ducting.
- Reading and interpreting complex technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
- Performing pre-installation checks, site surveys, and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and plan work accordingly.
- Ensuring all installations are carried out in compliance with relevant building regulations, industry standards, and health and safety legislation.
- Testing and commissioning newly installed systems, diagnosing and rectifying any faults or issues.
- Providing technical guidance and support to junior installation technicians, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any site-specific information.
- Communicating effectively with clients, providing explanations of the work undertaken and offering basic operational advice.
- Adhering to strict safety protocols at all times, including the correct use of PPE and safe working practices.
- Troubleshooting and repairing existing HVAC systems as required.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A recognized qualification in HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related engineering discipline (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds).
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the installation of HVAC systems.
- Proven experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration principles relevant to HVAC systems.
- F-Gas certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- A valid UK driving license and a willingness to travel to client sites across the region.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to health and safety standards.

The ideal HVAC Service Engineer will have at least five years’ experience post apprenticeship, with a track record of servicing, fault finding and repairing:
• All HVAC Equipment/Plant Room Equipment
• VRVs/Splits
• AHUs
• Chillers
• Ventilation
Candidates must have a proven track record of lone working, fault finding and direct client interactions.
Qualifications Required
• Level 3 NVQ Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or equivalent experience (Level 2 with experience)
• 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants (F-Gas)
• Full Driving Licence

- Work independently across split/multi split systems, DX and CW FCUs
- Compile dilapidation reports
- Complete works on VRV and VRF condensers and CRAC units independently
- Carry out PPM visits and repair works.
- Complete advanced fault finding
- Ensure accurate reports of work are on time and to a high standard.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and company policies.
- Develop understanding Health and Safety regulations
Desired Skillset and Characteristics:
- Diploma in air conditioning and refrigeration or equivalent
- Category 1 F Gas qualification or equivalent
- Full driving licence
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both the engineering team and office team
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good attention to detail
- High level of self-motivation
- Ability to utilise manufacturers service software
- A sound understanding of data and how it is used.
