EMEA Fund Financing Associate
Goldman Sachs is a leading global financial institution, and our Fund Financing business is an integral part of our private markets advisory, lending, and servicing ecosystem. We deploy the Firm’s balance sheet and structure capital markets solutions across the private markets ecosystem. The Fund Financing team provides innovative fund-level financing, including capital call/subscription facilities, asset-based loans collateralized by fund assets (including Private Equity, Private Credit, Infra and other illiquid collateral), hybrid facilities, single asset solutions, CV financings, and GP solutions including rated feeders / CFOs, and USPP issuance.
Our global Fund Finance business operates across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia, with team members in London, New York, Chicago, Dallas, and Bengaluru. We work closely with colleagues across Goldman Sachs’ Global Banking and Asset & Wealth Management divisions. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Associate to join our EMEA business, based in London.
The Fund Finance business sits within the newly formalized Capital Solutions Group, giving the candidate an opportunity to work alongside the investing team, gaining a unique exposure to the full spectrum of GS Fund Financing market leading offering.
Responsibilities
As an Associate in the Fund Finance Origination team, you will be pivotal in driving the execution of financings throughout the full lifecycle of a fund. You will work closely with senior originators as part of the coverage team for our private equity, secondaries, private credit, real estate, and infrastructure clients. You will also interact with other teams within the Capital Solutions Group such as Hedging and, as well as M&A teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Client Engagement: Contributing to the origination and coverage efforts for a diverse portfolio of private markets clients. This includes prospecting of new clients, as well as ongoing management of existing client relationships.
- Transaction Execution: Quarterbacking the deal process both internally and externally, ensuring seamless coordination and execution.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Effectively managing relationships and processes with a variety of GS teams including legal, KYC, structuring, and execution teams, as well as maintaining ongoing management of the Borrower experience.
- Structuring & Innovation: Leveraging your experience in structuring and executing transactions to facilitate the underwrite of deals and innovative solutions for Clients.
Qualifications
We are looking for a proactive and experienced professional with a strong understanding of fund finance and secured lending principles. Top candidates will possess:
- Experience: 3+ years of relevant work experience in lending, underwriting, credit, or portfolio management, with a solid foundational understanding of Fund Finance.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and a proactive commitment to teamwork and client service. Proactivity and a solutions-oriented mindset are a must.
- Financial Acumen: Strong knowledge of financial accounting, financial analysis, and the principles of secured lending.
- Market Understanding: Understanding of the legal structures and documents involved in private markets’ investment funds, coupled with an awareness of the risks associated with lending to those funds.
- Project Management: Proven transaction and project management skills, specifically experience managing fund finance transactions.
