An outstanding opportunity to join the UK subsidiary of a well-established international asset based lending provider.
Reporting to the company’s UK head office in Central London in this largely home based role, you will be responsible for the day to day management of a small portfolio of high value asset based lending relationships with individual facilities typically ranging from £5m to £20m.
Key areas of responsibility will include the following:
- Primary responsibility for the portfolio of clients.
- Balanced client service, retention, income generation & risk management.
- Identification of business trends and early risk indicators, managing exposure and exit strategies.
- Ensure detailed operational and relationship excellence is adhered to.
- Provide client service support and full transparency on account activity
- Strong inter-personal skills and a dedication to precision and execution
The successful candidate will be able to display an in-depth working knowledge of asset based lending, in addition to advanced deal structuring skills and a high level of financial acumen which will include the ability to review and analyse complex business proposals and financing requirements relating to large corporate businesses.
You will need to be a self-starter, highly motivated team player and be able to match the organisation’s appetite for growth whilst sharing its risk philosophy in a highly competitive business environment.

The Role
The Investment Manager will take a central role in the full investment lifecycle:
- Origination: Build deal flow through founder and investor networks, sector research, and event participation. Identify trends and opportunities in high-growth consumer categories such as beauty & wellbeing, functional food & beverages, and brand-enabling tech.
- Execution: Lead due diligence (commercial, financial, legal), develop valuation models, and prepare compelling investment materials for the Investment Committee. Negotiate terms and manage the closing process.
- Portfolio: Take Board or Board Observer seats, providing strategic guidance, leveraging corporate partnerships, and identifying growth opportunities. Monitor performance, support follow-on funding, and contribute to successful exits.
- Ecosystem: Build relationships with co-investors, advisors, and industry leaders to enhance deal flow and market presence.
- Team: Mentor junior colleagues, contribute to investment strategy, and promote a collaborative, high-performance culture.
About You
- 5–7 years’ experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting, or a high-growth startup.
- Strong financial modelling and valuation skills, with a track record of working end-to-end on deals.
- A deep interest in consumer sectors and the start-up ecosystem, ideally with exposure to FMCG, beauty & wellbeing, food & beverage, or consumer-enabling technologies.
- Confident communicator able to build rapport with founders, investors, and senior stakeholders.
- Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, unstructured environments.
- Strong academic track record.

We’re looking for an Investment Manager to join the PIC Capital team. PIC Capital is responsible for private assets at PIC including real assets and private credit. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact investment initiatives including transaction origination and execution, helping shape the future of our portfolio. You’ll report to the Head of Strategy for PIC Capital and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, applying your expertise to deliver meaningful outcomes.
Specific accountabilities:
- Leading the analysis and execution of investment strategies across real estate and private credit.
- Manage transactions end-to-end: from market research and strategy papers to legal negotiations and committee presentations.
- Optimise capital structures to align with PIC’s broader business goals, working closely with our credit research and ratings team, asset liability management and risk teams.
- Represent PIC externally - building networks, sharing market intelligence, and contributing to our industry presence.
- Presentation of deals and strategic initiatives to various committees including ability to adjust communication to different internal stakeholders.

Requirements
Experience

- Technical expertise with relevant investment structures
