• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Relevant automotive certifications (ASE, etc.) are highly preferred.

We are looking to broaden our team by hiring an Automotive Technician. We are specialist service providers to the vehicle manufacturing industry and their supply chains, and this is an excellent opportunity for you to join our growing team of contractors.

As a successful Vehicle Technician, you will be able demonstrate that you can perform heavy trim repair and.  You must be able to adapt to various job tasks including general bodywork removal and refit, removal and refitting of exterior trims, light mechanical work and general modifications to original vehicle build, glazing repair would be advantageous

• Perform maintenance and repair on vehicles.
• Glazing repairs advantageous
• Identify problems with vehicles using the diagnostic equipment.
• Plan repair procedures using charts manuals and experience.
• Test the functionality of parts and systems
• Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation.
• Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and other parts.
• Perform routine maintenance and general mechanic work on vehicles.
• Prepared to get additional certification as needed.
• Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
• Help keep repair shop clean and organized.
• Keep a professional appearance.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

·    Level 3 IMI or equivalent in Light vehicle maintenance and repair.

·    Experience working on components of modern light motor vehicles

·    Experience in an automotive environment is essential

·    A full category “B” driving licence is essential

·    Must have own range of Mechanical tools

Our Hourly Rate from £15.00 per hour to £24.94 per hour

• Providing expert-level remote diagnostic support via phone, email, and video conferencing.
• Interpreting vehicle diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), live data streams, and sensor readings to pinpoint faults.
• Developing and documenting detailed troubleshooting guides and solutions for common and complex issues.
• Collaborating with engineering teams to provide feedback on product performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Mentoring and assisting junior technicians with complex diagnostic challenges.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques through continuous learning and professional development.
• Ensuring accurate and thorough documentation of all diagnostic activities and customer interactions.
• Adhering to all company policies and procedures, maintaining a high standard of professionalism.

• Provide remote diagnostic support and technical guidance to automotive technicians in the field via phone, video conferencing, and remote access tools.
• Analyze vehicle diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), sensor data, and system behaviour to identify root causes of failures.
• Interpret complex vehicle schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical service bulletins.
• Recommend appropriate diagnostic procedures and repair strategies.
• Assist technicians in troubleshooting intermittent faults and complex electrical issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostic tools, and manufacturer updates.
• Document diagnostic findings, recommended repairs, and resolutions accurately.
• Contribute to the development of diagnostic knowledge bases and training materials.
• Liaise with vehicle manufacturers' technical support teams when necessary.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols during remote guidance.

• Proven experience as an Automotive Diagnostic Technician or Master Technician.
• Proficiency with a wide range of automotive diagnostic tools and software (e.g., OBD-II scanners, oscilloscopes, lab scopes).
• In-depth knowledge of engine management systems, fuel systems, transmission, ABS, and other vehicle electronic systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Self-motivated and able to work effectively independently in a remote environment.
• Ability to access and interpret digital service information.
• Relevant automotive certifications (e.g., ASE Master Certified) are highly desirable.
