**Your role and responsibilities**

As an AWS DevOps Engineer in IBM's public sector division, you'll contribute to projects that shape the future of these critical areas, leveraging your technical expertise to drive positive change.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated AWS DevOps Engineer to join our team focused on serving the public sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, building, and managing cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a commitment to delivering high-quality, secure, and efficient solutions.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* AWS Infrastructure Management: Proficiently use AWS to design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure. Expertise in Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation is required.
* Application Development and Deployment: Utilize NodeJS, ReactJS, and RESTful APIs to develop and deploy applications tailored to public sector needs. Ensure seamless integration with Elasticsearch and Apache NiFi.
* CI/CD Pipelines: Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. Automate testing, building, and deployment processes to ensure efficiency and quality.
* Containerization and Orchestration: Implement containerization using Docker and Podman, and orchestration with Kubernetes, ensuring solutions meet stringent public sector security and compliance standards.

* Experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation.
* Expertise in containerization tools like Docker and Podman.
* Proficiency in Kubernetes for orchestration.
* Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with Jenkins.
* Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, Ruby).
* Familiarity with Elasticsearch and Apache NiFi is desirable.
* AWS Certifications (preferably AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or higher).
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
* Knowledge of public sector operations, regulations, and compliance requirements is a plus.
