Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Corporate Counsel specializing in commercial contracts to join their expanding legal team. This is a fully remote, permanent position offering the successful candidate the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will play a pivotal role in managing and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements, ensuring legal compliance and mitigating risk across the organization. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts, including but not limited to, service agreements, supply contracts, licensing agreements, and partnership arrangements. You will provide strategic legal advice to various business units, collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver pragmatic legal solutions. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing contract management processes, managing legal department initiatives, and staying abreast of evolving legal landscapes that may impact the business. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial law, contract principles, and regulatory compliance, with a proven track record of managing a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are essential. You should be adept at advising non-legal colleagues and building strong relationships across the business. This remote role requires a proactive individual with excellent time management and organizational skills, capable of working autonomously and as part of a distributed team.

- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts.
- Provide expert legal advice on contractual matters, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
- Manage and advise on intellectual property matters and data protection compliance within contracts.
- Develop and implement robust contract management policies and procedures.
- Liaise with external counsel on specific legal matters as required.
- Conduct legal research and provide clear, concise advice on complex legal issues.
- Support business development activities through timely and effective legal counsel.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK and international laws and regulations.
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England and Wales (or equivalent jurisdiction).
- Minimum of 5 years PQE with significant experience in commercial contract law.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating complex agreements.
- Strong understanding of company law, intellectual property, and data privacy.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
